BECAUSE we're down to GOP's absolute lunatic fringe.
Their fringe has become their field.
Even southbeach from under his rock has been reduced to parading as a Green Party puppet spewing anti-Semitic from the westcoast sidelines against Sanders. And he was one of the most ridiculous of the Republicans to begin with. So they don't even have a conservative leg to stand on anymore. This is the most bizarre thing. And then you have others, supposed liberal-minded, so-called "progressives" feeding into this crap like Metta--who probably doesn't like to think of himself as an opportunist, but that's certainly how he's acting in cohort with others blinded by their own ambitions, unrealized of how very fucking dangerous this is.
How does he get away with it? What is this? THIS IS THE FROGS
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_FrogsThe Frogs tells the story of the god Dionysus, who, despairing of the state of Athens' tragedians, travels to Hades (the underworld) to bring the playwright Euripides back from the dead. (Euripides had died the year before, in 406 BC). He brings along his slave Xanthias, who is smarter and braver than Dionysus. As the play opens, Xanthias and Dionysus argue over what kind of jokes Xanthias can use to open the play. For the first half of the play, Dionysus routinely makes critical errors, forcing Xanthias to improvise in order to protect his master and prevent Dionysus from looking incompetent—but this only allows Dionysus to continue to make mistakes with no consequence. The course our city runs is the same towards men and money.
She has true and worthy sons.
She has fine new gold and ancient silver,
Coins untouched with alloys, gold or silver,
Each well minted, tested each and ringing clear.
Yet we never use them!
Others pass from hand to hand,
Sorry brass just struck last week and branded with a wretched brand.
So with men we know for upright, blameless lives and noble names.
These we spurn for men of brass ~~ Aristophanes
