I have a friend has no idea what Israel's border look like. In Google's map, it looks like Palestine, Israel and Syria all merge into one whole country. Golan Heights belongs to Syria, everyone knows that. Israel was home to many Palestinian refugees that were ethnic cleansings in 1948, 1967, 1973 and even today. Many Palestinians in Israel have family ties to Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as to Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. Apartheid really exist in Israel where many Palestinians villages don't recognized by Israeli government in Galilee and Negev. Some of the Palestinian citizen of Israel don't have same human rights as Israeli Jews.

Yeah nobody care about poor Palestine.

Palestine has long been falsely represented in the media, to support the occupation of Israel on Palestine land. They need to bring down the wall, and incorporate Israel in to Palestine.

You gotta be joking. Palestine is one of the most popular causes of our time. Not just within the Ummah (where mostly Western-backed autocrats betray utterly the views of their own people) but in the West as well. Announce a Palestine solidarity event at your nearest university and watch the lecture hall fill up.

There is no other liberal cause of our time (Tibet? Kashmir?) that comes close to its popularity.

Just look at the voting record at the UN General Assembly. On each issue seriatim, it is basically Israel and America vs. the whole world.

BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement helps bring people around the world understand what is going on about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. I am sure there are several other peaceful and justice movements including Jewish movements against Zionist racist policies in Palestine too. Some people here in the United States and especially Zionist Americans are clueless about the history or could careless about Palestinians (most of them are selfish people only care about themselves than others) would like to change people's mindset and portray Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims as "terrorists" in the U.S. media. Come on, you know I am right. There are some idiot RJ members here.

People that support dirty Zionist U.S. politicians like Newt Gingrich, Joe Biden, Sarah Palin and others are worst. There are Zionist liberals and Zionist conservatives... They are all over places.

UMayNeverKnow saidThere are quite a few towns in the US named Palestine. Which one are you referring to?

It is a popular biblical name, including Lebanon and Bethlehem.

We are talking about Palestine in the Middle East, silly.

Of course I agree with the part bolded above, but you should consider two things.

The first is that the US is the exception in its general support for Israel over the Palestinians, not the rule. Also, surveys show that if any country in the West suffers from a population "clueless about history", it is America. Ditto for international affairs. An overly harsh judgement perhaps, but I could present you with the exam questions Americans regularly fail dealing with basic points about their OWN history!

The second is that even in this special case, a majority of US citizens actually support the international consensus for peace that their government vetoes, hence why Americans polled in favor of the Palestinian UN statehood initiative in 2012, even while the White House, both houses of Congress and the overwhelming majority of the American media opposed it.

It is all the Zionist American lobby AIPAC that controls our U.S. government, houses of congress and media.

Not totally. The lobby can and does intimidate Members of Congress into falling behind the party line on Israel, but the President and State Department are certainly not beholden to them. On the contrary, the Israel lobby knows to stay away when important matters of state hang in the balance (for example, the Iran deal).

Why does America support Israel over Palestine?

You might as well ask why America supports Turkey against the Kurds, or supports Saudi Arabia against Yemen. For self-interested reasons. Big powerful states with major energy reserves, big NATO armies, or high-tech economies well integrated into your own, have the potential to serve you well. Not so (necessarily) their luckless and miserable victims for whose plight we share responsibility.

Ask me why do most presidential candidates have to make some stupid useless speech at the AIPAC Zionist lobby? Gain more Zionist Jew supporters or more anti-Palestinian remarks? I was surprised that Bernie Sanders didn't show up at the AIPAC and he is a Jew. I support his actions, who would need to go to the AIPAC lobby - warmongers lobby that support illegal occupation?

People in the United States starting to know the truth about Israel's brutal illegal occupation and Israel denies the Palestinian statehood while building more illegal Israeli Jewish settlements. When I talk about my relatives in Palestine and about my parents, people starting to find out the truth! When my parents immigrated to the United States in 1970, Israeli so-called "security" took my parents' Palestinian ID away because they both have American passports. Israeli government doesn't allows my parents or any Palestinians have dual citizens/ Palestinian ID and American passport at that time. It is the Israeli Zionists way ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and bring more Jews into Palestine.

I agree with you about why America supports Turkey against the Kurds and Saudi Arabia against Yemen. It is all about imperialist.
