I will bedoubg my own thing, when boom i hit the racing lane divider for the next lane or worse... The swimmer in the next lane!

I dont know why this happens only to me, i dont swim often and never with goggles. It only happens woth strokes where my head is not out of the water facing forward.

How do i improve my coordination in the water? Any advice

You should wear goggles when swimming laps which could help you straighten your line and watch for other oncoming swimmers.

+1 on the goggles. also look straight down at the bottom of the pool. most will have some sort of visuals that helps you swim in a straight line. the other reason could be if you're only turning your head on one side to get air (assuming you're swimming freestyle). i know that i can only do that on my right side, so i sometime veer a bit, but i try to correct it by paying more attention to the grid at the bottom of the pool.
