Valentine's day is right around the corner and I was wondering, How do you keep yourself busy from this "rub it in your face that your single" type of holiday?

Go on a weekend trip with my single roommates! Yahoo! That is, if we manage to rent a stupid car.

Well I have found most holidays to be very couple oriented. this just being the worst.

I first avoid most places where to much romance occurs. I go out with a friend and just enjoy thier companionship.

Last I always buy myself something great.

Luckily, I own a business that profits from these lovesick boobs.icon_twisted.gif

I own a balloon and flower delivery business. So, I'll take the money!!icon_twisted.gif

So, I don't see it "rubbing it in my face", I see it as "Single Awareness Day".icon_cool.gif

I try to find friends to hang out with. failing that, I make myself a cheap dinner and watch a random movie, read part of a book, or play computer games, or try to go outside and play somewhere.

That's one of the reasons why I don't date. I don't use relationships as a social status.

I make sure to avoid bars, clubs, and restaurants and eat a whole pint of Ben & Jerrys.

This weekend, a bunch of my old and new friends (gay and straight) are getting together and having a themed party.

We're celebrating Valentines Day with the friends we love.

I usually pick a good single friend and go on a date with them. Or just ignore the day completely.

Overall, I'm not a fan of the day...whether I'm single or not.

But I have two valentines this year...a bottle of tequila and a salt shaker.

Most likely I'll be single for this Valentine's =P... But I love myself way too much. I'm the kind of guy who buys presents for himself and he does a good job at anything. haha, even when I was in a relationship. Today it was a great night out with the friends, and I will go shopping (clothes clothes clothes!)

There's a guy who kinda said he was going to surprise me this weekend. but Im not sure if I should believe. lol.

I'm going with my Ultimate Frisbee (on the b-team) to Florida to play in a tournament. I'll be busy, I assure you.

I will go out for a long, and I do mean long run.

On Valentine's day, most of the candy is on sale so I buy as much as possible and relish in gluttony.

Valentines Day is as prominent on my calendar as Arbor Day, which is to say, not at all.

It's the strangest thing, every Valentines Day I never remember what I did. I always regain consciousness in a cemetary, with soil under my fingernails.

I always remember a dark stranger from my dreams, but no matter how good the fantasies are I never seem to forget how cold and dead thier lips felt when we kissed.

I'll spend it with family this year. The last Valentine's Day with my aunt who is dying.

Otherwise, I'd be doing something outdoors.

I'm a Social hermit, that makes it easy to just avoid alot of the stuff.

Oh, and working early mornings and college in the afternoons helps keep my time busy.

First I make sure that I have an appointment with my shrink. Then I lock up the liquor cabinet, pour on-hand quanitites of household poisons down the drain and give my gun to my neighbor. icon_wink.gif
