Trump and his campaign CEO, Bannon, the conspiracy theorist-cum-illusionist-cum-fictionist Breitbart former head, have become ALT-RIGHT's new role models. Alt-Right is a racist ideological movement that supports white nationalism, nativisim, white supremacy, anti-Semitism, and anti-immigration. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt-right.

If you look at Trump's action and language over the years, his personality squarely fits the profile of a Right-Alt ideologue: he hates Mexicans, he hates Muslims, he hates Eastern European refugees, he loves the KKK, he gets support from white supremacist groups, he wants to deport productive undocumented immigrants, and the list goes on and on.

Bannon and his pet project, Breitbart, on the other hand, are known for giving the Atl-Right movement a platform to spread racial hatred. See http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/08/17/alt-right-rejoices-at-trump-s-steve-bannon-hire.html. Bannon, of course, was reportedly a wife beater. He was once charged with roughing up his wife during a heated early morning argument at their California home. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/stephen-bannon-trump-campaign-ceo-attacked-ex-wife-report-article-1.2766333.

The Alt-Right movement has found its most vociferous and avid supporters in Trump and Bannon. Together, these two-of-a-kind, in tandem with the Alt-Right members, are poised to inflict incalculable damage upon the reputation of the United States and take us back to that period when African Americans were hunted like wild animals.

WE KNOW A LOT ABOUT TRUMP.
    None of it good.
All of it reflective of the poorly educated, irrationally angry members of today's GOP.

In trying to think if we've ever seen anything like this before, all I could come up with is LaRouche, who I'd mostly forgotten about so I just googled the guy, holy crap, what a mess! lol. Yeah, I remember some of that.

Now, he never made it as far as Trump vertically though his tentacles have extended outward. He did try to rise at one point through the Democratic Party but....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_LaRouche#1975.E2.80.931976:_presidential_campaignDemocratic Party leaders refused to recognize LaRouche as a party member, or to seat the few delegates he received in his seven primary campaigns as a Democrat
    .

Here's a quick youtube on some of that

So that's quite different from what's gone down here, where the Republicans, fearing a split of their own party, have embraces this squid.

And reviewing just now that vid I embedded, yeah, Maddow calls it just as I was thinking about it:

@ 5:27: "what has never happened before is that one of the two parties...of the oldest and most successful democracy on Earth...became vulnerable and weak enough to be taken over..."

    We've never seen this before.
