Hopefully the NY Times, Washington Post and major networks will also carry this message and at the same time reemphasize their support to BLM and how police go around shooting innocent unarmed black citizens.

Will remind the moderates/independents how radical and anti-US these outlets are. Good thing to do before the election. Keep it up!

WHOLLY understand his point of view and stand with him. Am just happy that, at least for now, no one has trumped up some faux-legal "reasons" to force him to "bend the knee".

In a situation like this, there is NEVER a time which is not his own, his right to choose . Employers...the US as a country and ideology...NEVER own you. You sound like SUCH A SHEEP.

But you are wrong, some employers DO THINK THEY OWN YOU, even when you are not 'on their clock'.

Im with Colin, if Tebow can pray, Kaepernick can protest, with conservatives who are "patriotic", its always a double standard icon_rolleyes.gif

Absolutely NO ONE bitched about this mans illegal "prayer on the field" and then coined the phrase "Tebowing"
I think other players should follow Kaepernick's lead, and turn his own protest into "a thing" much like Tebow did. icon_idea.gif

No, the fans just disappear. He loses his dream job making millions and is now stocking shelves at Wal-Mart.

Injuries, surgeries will make other teams less interested. Distracting the fans with political statements will cause problems for him.

Kaepernick’s contract guarantees him an $11.9 million salary this season, and ordinarily a player with an $11.9 million guaranteed salary isn’t going to get cut. But if the 49ers really think Kaepernick has regressed to the point where they’d be better off with Blaine Gabbert starting and Christian Ponder and Jeff Driskel backing Gabbert up, then they can save a little money by cutting Kaepernick and hoping he signs with another team, as they would be able to reduce that $11.9 million by the amount of Kaepernick’s salary with a new team.

So there are football reasons that the 49ers might want to get rid of Kaepernick. At this point, they probably wish they had done so before this weekend’s non-football controversy.

Sorry bud but your employer can pretty much dump you for your behavior on or off the clock. Just as a person is known by the company he keeps, a company is known by the people it keeps. If a company doesn't feel you project an image it doesn't approve of, it will get rid of you. That's the real world.

Is YOUR choice how you see this "real world"...go ahead and let another control you. Is YOUR business how you make decisions in YOUR life. Just don't presume to project your ideas of living or "the real world" on to someone else.

Man, Kaepernick HAS ALREADY MADE HIS MILLIONS, so your comments about Walmart are ridiculous. But to have people willing to denounce him over simply NOT STANDING FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM? It indicates that the US is a nation full of mindless sheep and fools.

HOW is it a requirement that a citizen has to do this? If you are not happy with the prevalent social and economic policies...with the ideology of the country, then you have the RIGHT of personal expression to quietly indicate it with impunity.

    USE IT.

I bet you members of Congress cannot be bothered to show respect for this country when there are no cameras around to record it.

A country whose social bedrock and ideology is overt racial bigotry, white male supremacy and gender inequity?

Is the reverse, the flag and anthem become valueless symbols.

You can find groups of veterans or others who will agree with any particular position. This latest is heavily inspired by Black Lives Matter, which was started based on the Hands Up Don't Shoot lie. A group part of or related marched and shouted What do we want? Dead cops. and Pigs in a blanket. Fry like bacon.

Fact is these groups will always disparage the country using either facts selectively or made up lies. There will also be people like the OP who will spread this.

One impact will be to alienate moderates from this far left nonsense and help move some undecided votes to Trump.

Head/heart is in the right place, but such organizations are BUSINESSES first. Most of the money will go to paying salaries and rents.
