"The Crucifixion of Christ” http://www.beckijayne.com/pages/crucifixion.html) by Atlanta artist Becki Jayne Harrelson.

Jesus hangs on a cross below a sign with the anti-gay slur “faggot.” She painted this stunning crucifixion through a steady stream of tears over human cruelty. “Look at the word ‘faggot’ on the cross. You could substitute the word ‘nigger,’ ‘Jew boy,’ ‘honkie,’ ‘redneck’ or ‘bitch’ -- it all means the same. Anytime anyone rises up in condemnation, hatred, or violence against another, Christ is crucified” she explained.

Their is so much power In that work of art, and it is deserving of the name, art. It speaks to all walks of life, and its challenging our belief in what Christians/modern society thins is right, and our faith in what we think God wants for us. His want is for all his children to live in peace, and when we use derogatory term to identify each other with, but use the cross or any other religion as a shield to protect your hatred, your slapping God in the face. We are all different and life different lives, speck different tongues, but whether your Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or Taoist, their is still one God that unites us all, and we are all his children. We may have different names for him but his love and wrath that we are given from him, is the same for everyone. Jesus, was his mouthpeace, it was God in the fleash, but why would he be the only one, their are prophets all through history and still to this day their are, but Jesus did something most didnt, he sacrificed him self for his poeple, the future children, and the idea that God loves us all the same, God sent his own son to hell, only to be resurrected to join the father for all the good he did and all the lives he made a difference in. At least that's what I believe but what do I know I'm just a 20 year old "faggot" who didn't even go to college, but still ^.^
