Trump's Mexico gamble pays off as he tries his hand at insta-diplomacy

No inconsistency about Trump saying who pays for the wall not discussed and Nieto saying he mentioned it. One side making a statement does not make a discussion. Trump took the smart approach focusing on the areas of common ground and not going into the details of differences on a first of many future meetings.

The meeting and the following speech - big plus for Trump. The only sound not heard was Hillary shitting in her colostomy bag.

And Trump not only moderated his tone, talking about the two countries “working beautifully together,” he said he had told Pena Nieto that illegal immigration must end and NAFTA must be renegotiated. He even called the Mexican leader a “friend.” So the Republican nominee didn’t back off his positions, but showed he could calibrate his language and play in this arena.

It’s hard to imagine that the excursion could have gone better for Trump. It’s not that his insta-diplomacy will suddenly make Trump popular among Hispanic voters, but it adds to the sense that he can be reasonable, that he isn’t some hothead who will drag us into a trade war.

He's up a point. But half of his Hispanic Advisory resigned. One posted on Facebook he is now voting for Hillary. Mexico, as a nation, is pissed! He said nice things there, but resorted to backstabbing once he got back.

Not a good a good way to treat a peaceful neighbor. NOT diplomatic at all. He's a two faced liar.....proven in ONE DAY!

Once the polls reflect yesterday's antics you will see Hispanics even more in Hillary's camp. She already had a huge lead there, but expect it to be more like 85% than 60%. He's appealing to a few (and dwindling) old prejudiced white men who are trying to relive the 60s and 70s white glory days.

Nonsense. His tone was different in Phoenix but nothing of substance inconsistant.
