Well, I guess here in Wilton Manors, Florida we can enjoy our Labor Day holiday tomorrow without worrying about any danger from this character. I wonder if the announced increased police presence here will still happen?

"Craig Jungwirth, 50, was arrested Saturday for violating bond conditions in an unrelated pending misdemeanor case, FBI officials say...

...In a news release sent Sunday, FBI spokesman Michael D. Leverock said Jungwirth [also] has been charged with transmitting threatening communications and will appear in federal court on Tuesday."

The suspect's eyes burned with hate.

He has a long history of police run-ins, shady dealings and other problems. He tried to organize a "Beach Bears" event earlier this year, that totally fizzled and left people holding the bag. That's when I first heard about him.

He advertised there were participating hotels that had set rooms aside, that the hotels knew nothing about. Guys were phoning the hotels for details about scheduled events & reservations that didn't exist. Doesn't help the gay community's reputation, especially for groups that need to have legitimate events scheduled. I belong to groups that use local hotels for meetings, lunches, fundraiser galas and so forth.

He said there'd be mixers & bear events at the local gay clubs, yet the clubs had never been contacted by him. Requiring them to do their own advertising and web site announcements denying involvement, lest their own reputations be tarnished. And requiring that Jungwirth remove their names from his list of "Official Participants". Which he was reluctant to do.

It was apparently this Wilton Manors gay business community reaction that enraged him. He evidently expected everyone to accommodate his vague plans at a week's notice.

Whereas the businesses need sufficient time to create their own flyers for distribution, make web site changes, reschedule other events, run gay magazine and newspaper ads, perhaps buy some theme decorations and get them put up, etc.

This appears to be the main reason for his hatred of this city, and the gays here. Even though he's supposed to be a gay himself. Many owners who've dealt with him say openly they think he's mentally unbalanced. Hard to know if he was really planning to carry out his threats, or if they were merely meant to hurt Labor Day business, his way of getting revenge.

But he went too far and now he's spending his own Labor Day holiday in jail, with more legal problems to follow. We'll learn if he got his wish, and if business did indeed suffer.

UPDATE: Labor Day has come and gone, with no incidents reported. This Jungwirth character remains in custody. I'm told he'll be transported back to South Florida for his Federal Court appearance. Which will be later than the Tuesday the FBI initially reported. Good, the longer he's in jail the better.

In the meantime I saw no decline in Labor Day business in Wilton Manors, the community that was the subject of his threats. I haven't had a chance to chat with one of the business owners this week who's closely involved with this, having pending lawsuits against Jungwirth. His attorney channels apparently keep him directly informed.

Sorry if male flesh makes you gag. And not a typical scene in Wilton Manors, unless at a private swimming pool. Or at the Fort Lauderdale beach (Wilton Manors isn't on the beach). That fictional TV program, BTW, is about Palm Springs, California.

But you don't need to get in a panic about either place. Just remain in Australia, where evidently men never remove their shirts to offend you closer to home. As the only "100% bona-fide homosexual" on RJ you sure are a prissy thing when it comes to men, aren't you?
