So using that same logic... if a mexican immigrant is not a rapist, drug dealer, or murder... they are probably some of the good people trump referred to and shouldn't be offended that he insulted only some of them. It's a similar argument, right?

Hillary took back the "half" part of her statement. Trump said "some" of the illegal Mexicans are good; implying that the majority are rapists/dealers/etc, whereas the reality is that illegal aliens are predisposed to commit less crime because of their vulnerability to deportation:

I am just really amazed at the responses on this thread. Those who are against Hillary speak out as though she has wronged or cheated them on some personal level. I really don't understand the level of hatred that some of you display for a woman you don't even know personally. If she perfect? no of course not, But she is not exactly the anti-Christ. She has been First Lady, Senator, and Secretary Of State. A hell of a lot more political experience than Donald Trump. So you would rather have a buffoon for a President, Mr. Trump, someone who has no political experience whatsoever? Be very careful what you wish for.

She has a record of dishonesty.

Her experience as Secretary of State is characterized by a string of failures.

She was extremely careless in mishandling classified material.

You may dislike Trump but calling him a baffoon [sic] or buffoon says your head is real far up your ass.

Well I don't understand how you can be so irresponsibly stupid by supporting this crooked, power hungry, incompetent whore Hillary rotten Clinton. Her years of political experience are basically garbage because she did nothing as a US Senator, she was the most corrupt and controversial First Lady in US history, and she was the worst Secretary of State in US history. The violence in the Middle East is largely due to her incompetence as a Secretary of State. The State Department under Hillary was riddled with rampant corruption and criminal behavior ranging from drug dealing in Iraq to sex with a child in Belgium. Yet you still want to be a blind sycophant and loyal supporter of this backstabbing, bumbling bitch. It is people like you that need to be barred from the polls this November for the sake of this great country. Granted Donald Trump has no political experience, so what. He is far more stable and trustworthy than the Wicked Witch of Wall Street in addition he is not part of the crooked, entrenched, political establishment that has run this country into the sewer. You definitely need to wake up and smell the coffee. Vote for either Donald Trump, Jill Stein, or Gary Johnson but do not vote for the hapless Hillary ho, the worst Presidential candidate in US history.

Yes I am one of the deplorables and I am damn proud of iticon_exclaim.gif

But he didn't merely insult "only some of them"

So your logic is faulty because your argument depends upon both a wrong assumption and also on false equivalence.

You've picked out similar characteristics (ie each having characterized a group) but you've not shown parallel situations in how the charges of said characteristics were levied by either side.

    Trump lied.

Trump said: "“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”*

Some is not half, some is not a majority. Some are a few non poisoned skittles.

He then doubled-down: "What can be simpler or more accurately stated? The Mexican Government is forcing their most unwanted people into the United States. They are, in many cases, criminals, drug dealers, rapists, etc.”

But according to the numbers, his statements are wrong. He's lying...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/07/08/donald-trumps-false-comments-connecting-mexican-immigrants-and-crime/Fact Checker: Donald Trump’s false comments connecting Mexican immigrants and crime...

    The Facts

...Data on immigrants and crime are incomplete, but a range of studies show there is no evidence immigrants commit more crimes than native-born Americans. In fact, first-generation immigrants are predisposed to lower crime rates than native-born Americans....

    Four Pinocchios for tRump
    pinocchio_4.jpg

Hillary, on the other hand, not only told the truth, not only didn't at all lie, rather she underestimated, giving you guys at first the benefit of the doubt that you didn't deserve. For which she later apologized for having said "half" lol.

    H. Clinton said “To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it”, which turns out is a fairly accurate assessment. It is not a Donald Lie.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/data-reveals-hillary-clinton-was-right-about-donald_us_57d3b2b1e4b0273330ac3fcbData Reveals Hillary Clinton Was Right About Donald Trump’s ‘Deplorable’ Supporters

...Hillary Clinton wasn’t wrong. She didn’t misspeak. She didn’t overreach. If anything, she was perhaps too kind in her assessment of the ugly side of Trump’s base — the “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic” crowd may be even larger than she suggested.

This isn’t conjecture. Pollsters have been regularly studying the attitudes and opinions of Trump supporters for more than a year — which leaves no shortage of proof points to bolster Clinton’s case. All we have to do is look.

Let’s start with some good old-fashioned racism. According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll from June, roughly 50 percent of Trump supporters reported viewing African-Americans as more “violent” and “criminal” than whites, with 40 percent or more also saying that blacks were more “lazy” and “rude” than their white counterparts. And given Trump’s role in the rise of the racist “birther” movement, it seems fitting that 65 percent of his backers still believe the falsehood that President Obama is a secret Muslim and 59 percent continue to insist that our nation’s first black president was not born in the United States, according to a May survey by Public Policy Polling....

...A Reuters/Ipsos survey from July reported that 58 percent of Trump backers held an unfavorable view of Islam, with 78 percent believing that Islam was more likely to encourage acts of terrorism than other world religions. Similarly, a Pew Research Center study in August found that 57 percent of Trump adherents said Muslims should be subject to more scrutiny because of their religion....

...in the year 2016, more than a year after the Supreme Court put the issue to bed in a landmark decision, 52 percent of Trump supporters still oppose allowing LGBT Americans to marry legally, according to a recent Pew poll...

dreamcock saidalot of horrible, nasty things were said of Reagan too and he turned out to be 1 of the GREATEST MOST DEMENTED presidents this country ever produced! But #15 in the aggregate ranking of best presidents.* Trump 2016 Sucks

    fixed

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_StatesIn political studies, historical rankings of Presidents of the United States are surveys conducted in order to construct rankings of the success of individuals who have served as President of the United States. Ranking systems are usually based on surveys of academic historians and political scientists or popular opinion. The rankings focus on the presidential achievements, leadership qualities, failures, and faults.

Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and George Washington are consistently ranked at the top of the lists. Often ranked just below those Presidents are Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt. The remaining places in the top ten are often rounded out by Harry S. Truman, Woodrow Wilson, Dwight D. Eisenhower, James K. Polk, and Andrew Jackson. Recent presidents such as John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton tend to be rated among the greatest in world opinion polls, but do not always rank as highly among presidential scholars and historians....

...A 2000 survey by The Wall Street Journal consisted of an "ideologically balanced group of 132 prominent professors of history, law, and political science". This poll sought to include an equal number of liberals and conservatives in the survey, as the editors argued that previous polls were dominated by either one group or the other, but never balanced. According to the editors, this poll included responses from more women, minorities, and young professors than the 1996 Schlesinger poll. The editors noted that the results of their poll were "remarkably similar" to the 1996 Schlesinger poll, with the main difference in the 2000 poll being the lower rankings for the 1960s presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and John F. Kennedy, and higher ranking of President Ronald Reagan at #8. Franklin Roosevelt still ranked in the top three....

...In 2012, Newsweek magazine asked a panel of historians to rank the ten best presidents since 1900. The results showed that historians had ranked Franklin D. Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, Woodrow Wilson, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, Dwight Eisenhower, Bill Clinton, and Ronald Reagan as the best since that year...

*(NOTE CHART IN LINK: Reagan comes in the top 10 in 5 of 15 polls with his aggregate rank coming in at #15)...

...According to a your conservatively-biased Rasmussen poll conducted in 2007, six presidents—George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy—were rated favorably by at least 80% of Americans...

So by pretty much any account Reagan ranks relatively high but especially by those who study politics, rarely if ever in the top 10. Certainly not #1.

Regarding the rank of tRump, that's less a reference of status and more a matter of smell.

Well, let's start with the OP. I don't have any evidence he's a racist other than admitting it in his first post of this thread. He didn't say he was "the other half" of Hillary's commentary. He specifically said he was one of the deplorables. When someone tells you who they are, should we believe him?

Really deep down inside you know she feels anyone not voting for her is a deplorable; that is, who doesn't vote democrat is a racist, misogynist, homophobe, xenophobe, etc. She's an elitist.

Well, she said half. I think that number is generous, actually. I see surveys showing from 65% to 72% of Trump supporters doubt President Obama's citizenship. In what basket do I put them?

Are you a racist? Maybe you aren't. But you're OK with racism, if Trump speaks for you. What basket is that? Or are you the "other half." Disaffected, out-of-work, etc. She didn't call you deplorable then. Or maybe it's your victimhood showing through, I don't know.

But for all the bullshit Trump spews, all of the lies, all of the black & white stop & frisk extreme vetting sending their rapists what have African Americans got to lose using his charity foundation to pay his bills influence buying university scamming won't rent to minorities looking out for number one, Clinton's comment HURT you? Personally? Own it, I guess, like you're all doing.
