Trump has promised to sign it, if he wins. In conjunction with his recent rollout of a Catholic advisory group, Donald Trump articulated his dedication to a number of issues of critical importance to American Catholics, including his hard-line defense of religious freedom. Among his many promises, Trump pledged to sign the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) if Congress were to pass the legislation during his presidency. The bill — co-sponsored by Republican senator Mike Lee of Utah and Representative Raul Labrador, an Idaho Republican — is narrowly tailored to protect from government discrimination those religious Americans who believe that marriage is a union between one man and one woman.

Strangely enough, America's blessed religious leaders from the Catholic Church aren't asking Duh Donald to do something about POVERTY or HOMELESSNESS.

NO, but they really, really want to STOP THE GAYS!

And Bless His Heart, DONALD HAS PROMISED THEM THAT HE WILL SIGN WHAT THEY WANT.

    STOP LYING

This is not going to STOP THE GAYS! or end same-sex marriage.

If a bakery doesn't like me, I don't want to do business with them either. No loss. You are just desperate and full of it. I'd much rather know Muslims coming to the US are properly VETTED...and ISIS is defeated...both of which Hillary and Obama failed to do.

The marriage issue is closed. Public opinion favors it, and by large margins of even young conservatives. All the major Religious Right leaders have bigger fish to fry. The smaller lone wolfs and radical ones will harp on it, but they're not going anywhere.

I'm more concerned about muslim terrorists, especially the rise of ISIS and random terrorist bombings under Obama.

Where is the lie? TimTheThird said Donald Trump supported these proposed laws. He does. And you can't predict that they won't be as harmful as intended by those who are proposing them.

You're arguing that the laws won't harm gays, without actually knowing. Whereas we DO know what Duh Donald had pledged to do in the White House. As his pledge clearly states, as TomTheThird has accurately reported.

So why are YOU misleading us in this discussion here? What is YOUR private agenda, Mr. Faux-Gay guy?

Gay marriage is a closed issue.

I happen to think there are bigger issues....Obama Mismanaging the country by adding $9,000,000,000,000 in phony money to the country......with most of it going to people already obscenely wealthy......and blowing up the Middle East, blowing up racial tensions, rise of terrorist attacks here in the US, off shoring of jobs, etc.

Go ahead and vote Hillary.....but don't expect anything, because the Clintons screwed gays every chance they got.....DOMA and DADT to name a few.

Gay marriage is a closed issue.

Is it really??? What a nice bit of disinformation THAT is.

Trump has signed a pledge to enable legislation weakening gay marriage. And Republicans want to pack the US Supreme Court with new Justices who will review and overturn the pro-same sex ruling. With a Republican President who nominates Supreme Court Justices, and a Republican Senate that confirms them.

Then gay marriage will not be "a closed issue" but erased from the books, gone. And Republicans are also eager to begin a Constitutional Amendment process to permanently outlaw same-sex marriage. Totally bypassing the US Supreme Court altogether, that would be powerless to rule against the Constitution.

But I'm not surprised that you want to pretend this risk to LGBTs doesn't exist. Gay marriage is NOT a "closed issue", not if you Republicans have anything to say about it. It remains an ongoing battle.

It's in your interest to lull gays into letting down their guard on this. We shouldn't, and I hope won't. Republican supporters like you are standing in the wings, waiting to move in and take our civil rights away again. I hope your tactics fail.

This will never happen. The gay marriage issue is settled and it is the law of the land like it or lump it.

    You sound paranoid.

    How is gay marriage weakened?

And, are you aware it requires 38 states to pass an amendment to the constitution?

False, and you know it. Or else you know little about our US system of government.

Read my last post above. Rather, I think you're trying to promote a bit of lax complacency among LGBT, so that the ongoing danger against us will not be realized until it's too late to do anything. Nice try, but you've been revealed for your true objectives.

Usually happens around the time of the US election cycle, when you guys get careless, perhaps even desperately hysterical, in your posts. Divulging more than perhaps you should, either directly or indirectly. Not surprised to see you've joined the club.

Marriage is for people who like to be controlled.

You can have it all without actually tying the knot!

    Yes!

Trump: I Would ‘Strongly Consider’ Appointing Judges To Overturn Same-Sex Marriage

“I can see changes coming down the line.”

You can believe Duh Donald was lying if that helps.
