Alabama rednecks will no doubt elect him governor. Unless he prefers to cash in by pick-pocketing the morons comprising the majority of the state (the religious deplorables) through speaking fees. Assuming he probably will try to do both. Yeah, I lived in that state for a while. Florida feels like California by comparison. Though Mississippi is worse.

Unless the full Alabama Supreme Court overturns this, homophobe Moore's off the State bench permanently. He's 69, barred for his remaining term, and there's no election cycle until after he turns 70, even if he resigns immediately. The Alabama law bars election to their State Supreme Court after age 70.

But being elected Governor he might manage. Those rednecks love him, elected him back to their Supreme Court after he was removed over the Ten Commandments issue.

Hopefully this marks a turning point for the better in the heart of Dixie. Hopefully the majority of Alabamans will see this radical, right wing justice for what he really is and that is a narrow minded bible thumping screwball who wants to turn Alabama into a theocracy where there is no freedom from oppressive, backward religious beliefs and where bigotry runs amok.

I lived in Alabama over 2 years. What you describe IS Alabama. The kind of cultural inertia that affects the entire State cannot be changed in a single day merely because of residents suddenly "seeing" something. They see what they were raised to see all their lives, and nothing different.

Alabamans will not change spontaneously on their own. Not when their families, friends, preachers, schools and local media are reinforcing this hate. It's part of their heritage, and most of them are proud of it. Or else they wouldn't have returned this Moore as their State Chief Justice just a few years ago, who'd already been removed from office and was widely known as an outrageous, intemperate bigot.
