Hotness scale for guys

Are 10/10's simply the hottest 10% of the population (red scheme), or are they are rare compared to 5's and 6's (blue scheme)?

Red scheme. There actually are a lot of extremely hot guys out there. The smart ones know that they're not so rare and it keeps them modest.

10%? You're being very optimistic. Even the blue scheme is very optimistic. The top of the curve should be further to the left.

0.1% is more like it. Being a 10 means not only having a symmetrical masculine face that only lucky genetics can give, but also having the genetics, the diet, the discipline, the patience, maybe the steroids and certainly the money to afford all of what's required to attain and maintain a muscular body. Not to mention the luxury of attaining all that while you're still young.

Well, judging from the guy above you threads and the amount of "totally-legit" profiles woofing the liver-spotted land whales above them, i'd say the blue curve should move all the way to the right icon_lol.gif

Dunno... Presumably, the proportion of 10/10's should be increasing over time. Because, you know, they ought to breed more. But then, I suppose that means that what's a "9" now will be a "1" in a few years.

There is a theory that small, dead-end towns have an unusually high percentage of "10's" because they get each other pregnant at 17, have to get married, and get stuck in dead-end McJobs.
    It's only a theory.

Isn't hotness relative? If you go by the blue curve, shouldn't the peak always be in the middle despite changing standards of beauty?

I don't think half the population is above 6...

Hotness relative? Try looking at scruff's most woofed list, or RealJock's most hotlisted. Standards of beauty never change, only fads come and go. Preference for signs of health is universal and eternal.

The appearance of health also changes however. Before the AIDS epidemic, most guys preferred leanness and and sharp facial features. Afterwards, a little chunkier is not so bad, because it looks "healthy".
