https://www.takemefishing.org/how-to-fish/how-to-catch-fish/how-to-set-the-drag/The drag is simply a pair of friction plates inside of fishing reels. If the fish pulls on the line hard enough, the friction is overcome, and the reel rotates backwards, letting line out, preventing the line from breaking. You want to set the drag on a fishing reel before your first cast of the day. Adjusting it while fighting a fish can be difficult. Also fishing reels are not designed to be adjusted while fishing, so doing so could cause damage.

Set the Drag on a Spinning Reel: Steps

1 The easiest way to set the drag on a spinning reel is to first test it by pulling on your line directly above the reel.
2 Tighten the drag a few clicks to the right, if the line pulls out too easily. If it’s too hard, loosen it one or two to the left.
3 If you don’t feel you can judge the force accurately, a small spring scale can help, such as the ones used in Boca Grips or other fish handling devices used in catch and release.
4 It’s better to have your drag too loose, and have to fight a fish a little longer than to have it too tight, and break off a big one

Your post is brilliant but I'm afraid a bit too smart for the alt-right Trump supporters to comprehend. You're going to have to spell it out in a manner that 7th or 8th grade kids can understand.

Here's a portion of the thought that I posted separately. Some people think that Clinton should have attacked Trump more. What would have been the incremental benefit? None. Clinton had 4 goals: (1) let Trump self-destruct, (2) appear presidential, (3) talk to the people who haven't made up their minds, and (4) ensure that Trump remains the presidential nominee. She met each and every one of these goals.

The first three goals are self-explanatory. As to the fourth goal, some Clinton supporters were concerned that, given Trump's recent "escapades," there'd be an increasing call among the Republican elites to dump Trump. Well, frankly that would pose problems for the Clinton campaign. Imagine if someone were to take Trump's place: Clinton's campaign would have to start from scratch with opposition research, political ads, etc. That would be very costly and, frankly, risky. It's like changing horses in midstream. Why get rid of a gift that keeps on giving, like Trump? Why bet on a potential loser when you have a sure loser, like Trump? What Clinton did very smartly and strategically was to give Trump enough rope to hang himself, while ensuring that the Republicans (like Paul Ryan) remain in an untenable and uncomfortable political position. This is the genius of it all: fanning the flames of discourse, uncertainty and conflict among the Republicans, with very little effort on Clinton's part.
