PAUL RYAN: "I will no longer defend Donald Trump or campaign for him." "Do what's best for you in your district."

REINCE PRIEBUS: "I want to make it very clear that the RNC is in full coordination with the Trump campaign and we have a great relationship with them." "Nothing has changed in regards to our relationship and we remain very much involved and together in all levels in making these decisions of how best to run the operation across the country." "So everything is on course, and I want you to understand that."

DONALD TRUMP: "Paul Ryan should spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs and illegal immigration and not waste his time on fighting Republican nominee." [Twitter rant at 10:22 AM - 10 Oct 2016 ] "Despite winning the second debate in a landslide (every poll), it is hard to do well when Paul Ryan and others give zero support! [Twitter rant at 5:16 AM - 11 Oct 2016 ] "Our very weak and ineffective leader, Paul Ryan, had a bad conference call where his members went wild at his disloyalty." [Twitter rant at 6:05 AM - 11 Oct 2016] "It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to." [Twitter rant at 7:00 AM - 11 Oct 2016] "With the exception of cheating Bernie out of the nom the Dems have always proven to be far more loyal to each other than the Republicans!" [Twitter rant at 7:15 AM - 11 Oct 2016] "Disloyal R's are far more difficult than Crooked Hillary. They come at you from all sides. They don’t know how to win - I will teach them!" [Twitter rant at 7:48 AM - 11 Oct 2016] "The very foul mouthed Sen. John McCain begged for my support during his primary (I gave, he won), then dropped me over locker room remarks!" [Twitter rant at 9:52 AM - 11 Oct 2016]

There's no need to explain what's going on within the Republican Party because it's self-evident. The Republican Party is imploding and it can only blame itself because it has allowed its pitchfork members to control the Republican agenda. Trump and his supporters have no loyalty whatsoever to the Republican Party and what it stands for. Trump understands that he's going down, but he's taking the entire Republican Party with him. The fact of the matter is that Trump is now even more unhinged (see his Twitter rants above), and there's reason to believe that he's just starting.

I don't view the Ryan/Priebus affair as civil war, rather as them trying to fight two fronts. Their problem being that Trump is wedging away a good chunk of the GOP's rank and file needed to win either battle.

If he uses this to crank up his own political party which he'd take advantage of to profit with a media company built on that, this will further weaken--on top of the demographic shift already whittling away--the GOP.

Results will possibly be a dominant Democratic Party into the next few generations. A lame Republican Party and a Fascist Party in whatever form that takes (be it KKK or Putin-preferred or Nazi-based) whatever may springboard off this Republican folly.

Well, the Republicans were not dubbed the "Party of No" for nothing after a Black Democratic became President in 2009. Their entire focus shifted from purely legislative goals to destroying the first Black President, and preventing a repeat.

Now they'll shift to trying to destroy the first female President, who's also a Democrat to make it even worse for them. Unable to build, and unable to unite Americans, Republicans destroy and bring disunity & discord. They've learned that what weakens America strengthens Republicans, as well as their wealthy donors. Instilling fear, hatred, paranoia... if you understand that motivating strategy, then you can accurately predict Republican Party stances on every issue.

The questions you should ask yourself when evaluating a Republican Party position are: what do they gain politically as a Party, and what do their wealthy donors gain? And, of course, what will you yourself lose, if you aren't a 1-percenter? Because in the Republican formula, it's the 99-percenters who get to foot all the bills, shoulder all the risks & burdens; Republicans just lie and tell them differently.

And the last thing on the Republican agenda is what's good for the country. Their (unspoken) motto is "Party Before People". Whatever puts them in power and keep them there. They just tell the gullible "ordinary" voters differently, while they rob them blind.

Meanwhile their fat-cat friends fuel a mega-yacht buying frenzy down here in South Florida, that I see with my own eyes. But my eyes also see the middle class people struggling, and paying more taxes than the "billionaire" Donald Trump does, all the while he's ruining his investors and stiffing his contractors, yet claiming he's the greatest businessman in America today.

Not to mention the world's greatest genius on all subjects. Including being smarter than our US Generals & Admirals, despite Trump having dodged the draft during Vietnam, and never worn a military uniform in his life. What a Heavenly light must be shining down upon his blessed head, and perhaps being responsible for the different shades his hair keeps turning.

He evidently thinks that having fleeced people in his shady business dealings, and now by trying to con an entire nation, he has earned the right to become Commander in Chief of the world's most powerful military. And tell those incompetent Generals & Admirals how to do their jobs. Thinks he can order foreign countries around like he abuses his company subordinates, drop bombs where he likes, imprison his political opponents. Beginning with Hillary Clinton.

Trump is batshit crazy, and I'm more surprised that we even have to debate this on an otherwise highly intelligent site like RJ. Despite the word "Jock" being in the name. I think a lot of the more responsible guys here need to put their foot down and yell:

"Enough! LGBT people don't want Trump and the threat he represents to us, and to our country. Nor do we want homophobic Republican politicians. We have a right to protect ourselves, and Trump & Republicans have directly threatened us by name."

I don't see how anyone who defends Trump or US Republicans can really be one of us. That's really taking low, self-image, self-degradation & masochism too far. Please don't drag me into your own personal Hell of subservient abuse.
