The Trump campaign Friday night seized on a media report as the "evidence" it claims rebuts a woman who recently accused the GOP presidential nominee of groping her on a flight.
In the New York Post report, which was set up by the campaign, British man Anthony Gilberthorpe says he was sitting across the aisle from Jessica Leeds on the flight in the early 1980s and didn't see Trump do anything inappropriate.
Leeds was one of two women who told The New York Times about Trump's alleged inappropriate sexual behavior in the past. Since then, others have come forward as well.
Gilberthorpe told the New York Post he couldn't offer any evidence but claimed he has "good photographic memory." He told the tabloid: "What she said about Trump is wrong."
Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, said earlier Friday that evidence would come out by the end of the day that would disprove the allegations. A campaign aide told NBC News that evidence was the New York Post story but added, "There's "more to come."
