A good half of the Asian-looking profiles on grindr identify as "mixed". My Japanese frd who has grindr xtra actually filters out "mixed" guys to save himself the effort. Testing his theory I messaged everyone who I thought were equally attractive as me. Percentage of responses - Asians 50%, Whites 30%, Blacks 90%, Hispanic 20%. My odds of getting "mixed" Asians interested, rounded to the closest tenth, is zero lol. Identity crisis, those poor guys!

Oh crap, thanks for airing our dirty laundry and outing all the potato queens. Now the old white men know exactly which types to zero in on icon_rolleyes.gif

Grindr is now owned by a Chinese company right?

I'm assuming OP meant Asians, not the general public, who are unlikely to attract Asians that identify as mixed. Most mixed-identifying gays either want to cash in on their whiter side, or are simply Black or Asian and think that concealing their ethnicity will make them suffer less racism. I think the transparency of their insecurity will perpetuate racial hierachy.

When an Asian refuses to date other Asians or who dates only white guy or "cash in on his whiter side" it's called "insecurity."

When a white guy doesn't want to date Asians he's a racist.

So, depending on your skin color you're either a victimized insecure person or you're an evil racist!

Hope you all walk away from this understanding how this all works.

Your statement "I think the transparency of their insecurity will perpetuate racial hierarchy." is actually well stated. A thought I had years ago but I'm impressed, and I'm rarely impressed as I don't see the thought articulated elsewhere but it's probably a feeling others here have as well but just couldn't articulate.

Haven't seen a race thread in a while... it's never a good time for that, but now is an even worse time with these Trump trolls running amok here lol.

I noticed this in the bay area a lot, and frankly it's a bit of a turn off. The only Asians I've ever dated usually dated their own race and didn't fetishize me for being white.

I disagree. Asians who refuse to date other Asians are just as racist as the white guy who refuses to date Asians. Whether or not it's about insecurity/self-hatred is a red herring, IMO. If you exclude, for whatever reason, an entire race, well, you guessed it, you're racist.

Actually we do agree as my first statement was based on sarcasm.

Actually could I rescind being impressed in an earlier comment I made? I'm still not impressed by much, not even the prospect of nuclear war.

But what if you are actually mixed.....for example, I am mixed Chinese and Hawaiian with a small bit of Portuguese thrown in down the bloodline. What is wrong with stating the truth?

^^What are the odds of a French-Italian with a bit of Portugese mixed in calling himself anything other than "white"? Zero lol. It's almost always non-whites who do this. The reason is obvious

Well I choose to call myself mixed because the cultures are completely different. I have no issues calling myself Asian either, but the truth is the truth..... Proud of both cultures.

Asia has 66% of the population. More likely a mixed Asian could be Korean + Japanese.
