I was walking around the gay bar area and of course there are always thugs hanging out in the area looking to get something out of someone. I had to walk away fast as these thugs exclaimed "you are leading them on" or something like that just for walking around. Of course I ignore stuff like that since it is just some type of manipulation to get something out of me. Anyone have worse experience like getting mugged or the like? Some do like at gay people as easy targets for that sort of thing. Probably not a good thing to do just walk around and mind my business in the city.

Have always felt safe in my city, sure parts one wouldn't walk around at night. But going into, and leaving gay clubs, always felt safe. But I feel safe living with my man out in the burbs too. Sydney has been, and can be a very dangerous place.

plenty of bars to pick from. Denver's Wrangler moved to the Five Points, not a safe neighborhood. If i am with a group of friends its ok.
they want to pick off the drunk well dressed guys. Likely not just the gay people.

We never run into "thugs" in our gayborhood. On the contrary, everyone is friendly & nice.

But if he's got a gun I'm dead if I resist. I don't carry one myself. If he doesn't have a gun, and the circumstances are favorable, I likely can take him down. If it's more than one guy the outcome is dicey. I'm not some movie Rambo.

It was in Philadelphia and it was actually early like 9 PM on Sunday so perhaps there simply wasn't that many out then. There is a possibility they were gay and just trying to get my attention but maybe not and wasn't about to find out. I usually hadn't had an issue on Friday or something around midnight since there are so many people walking around. It is true though, when you Google safety concerns in the gayborhood, you get the stuff about Orlando which is something else entirely besides standard crimes.
