Oct 17, 2016 2:39 PM GMT Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner has informally approached one of the media industry's top dealmakers about the prospect of setting up a Trump television network after the presidential election in November.

Mr Kushner — an increasingly influential figure in the billionaire's presidential campaign — contacted Aryeh Bourkoff, the founder and chief executive of LionTree, a boutique investment bank, within the past couple of months, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.
Their conversation was brief and has not progressed since, the people said. Mr Bourkoff and Mr Kushner both declined to comment.
However, the approach suggests Mr Kushner and the Republican candidate himself are thinking about how to capitalise on the populist movement that has sprung up around their campaign in the event of an election defeat to Democrat Hillary Clinton next month.

TrumpTV would be HUGE. It would rock the cable news world so hard the CNN's and FOX's of the world won't know what hit them. Trump has 20 million + followers on Twitter/Facebook which would translate into a massive TV audience who is fed up with the biased media we have been getting for far too long. I believe this could happen whether Trump wins or loses

True to his predatory opportunistic nature, without even a deal yet cut, or a tit or actor's pussy to grab, already they are into programming.

Here's the first Trump Network Television season's lineup....

About-Face The Nation is a news interview program which airs every Sunday morning, live from the TNT studio in what's left of Washington...

20/Paid Back 10 Cents on the Dollar

Seen in more than 100 countries, NOVA is the most watched science debunking television series in the world and the most watched documentary series on TNT. It is also one of television's most ashamed series, having called rigged on every major television award, most of them many times over. Each week NOVA Onion & Eggs takes an off the wall look at a particular topic or individual in the science field....

Oct 18, 2016 2:13 PM GMT's Why a Trump TV Network Will Almost Certainly Fail

Just having a rabid following (of deplorables) isn’t necessarily enough to build a sustainable business.

... The likelihood of Trump being able to create a standalone network that would compete with Fox, however, and possibly even take its place on cable boxes, is extremely low...

Don't be so quick to envision TrumpTV. New cable nets must absorb billions of losses before they turn a profit. That's not the way he do.

...Trump could also presumably lure certain right-wing commentators away from Fox, including Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, each of whom has their own following. But just having an audience doesn’t necessarily translate into a sustainable business....

... “Just given what we’ve seen in the past, especially with the Palin network, it’s risky,”...

...Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network is another example of how difficult it can be to build a standalone TV took more than four years and over $300 million in losses before the Winfrey network turned the corner...

...Glenn Beck has carved out his own network and audience. From the standpoint of profitability, it’s a little tougher to put a measuring stick on what is successful and what isn’t,” says Hower.

But is building a modestly-successful niche media business going to be enough to satisfy the former reality TV host and presidential candidate? Given the size of Trump’s ego, that seems difficult to believe....
