Donald Trump is calling for the end of Saturday Night Live after the sketch comedy show's brutal lampooning of the GOP presidential candidate over the weekend.

A pouting Alec Baldwin portrayed Trump skulking behind Hillary Clinton as the Jaws theme played.

As Trump, Baldwin urged his supporters to vote on Election Day, saying: “Get out and vote November 35th!”

The gag comes after Trump mistakenly told his backers to cast their ballots on November 28, 20 days after the actual Election Day.

He's right. SNL hasn't been funny since the Eddie Murphy days.

I guess you would know, since you've never been funny. Or informative, or entertaining, or enjoyable, or anything here but an annoying pest.

I 'm loving the SNL debate skits. Baldwin's doing a great job with those, as is Kate McKinnon

I mentioned on another thread how I'd been thinking of getting rid of cable but then along came this election and suddenly I like my TV again. I thought it real funny when Alec Baldwin said as Trump "Are you not entertained?" Too fucking funny.

So what are we doing now, Making America Humorless Again? Is Trump ever funny? He got a good dig in on Hillary at that first debate but otherwise I don't recall him having much of a humor, certainly that butt of a joke can't take a joke....

    :::::Googling:::: interesting....

http://theweek.com/speedreads/654458/does-donald-trump-have-sense-humorOnly one kind of joke was officially off limits at Donald Trump's 2011 Comedy Central roast, but many others were crossed out or rewritten by Trump himself, The Huffington Post reports. "I have done this a long time and nobody blacks out punchlines," comedy writer Jesse Joyce recalled, adding that sometimes Trump's edits showed "a classic lack of an understanding of how a joke works."

Trump made a few lackluster attempts at cracking wise. He changed a joke meant to slam [Seth] MacFarlane from: "The only way you'll ever draw a crowd is with a pencil." Trump's revision: "The only crowd you'll attract is flies."

After a joke that cited climate change, Trump suggested a parenthetical: "(Which obviously doesn't exist)."

Elsewhere, Trump suggested a broadside against the entire dais: "Their all losers and I like associating with loser because it makes me feel even better about myself." (The grammar mistakes are Trump's.)

Even in a script designed to be self-effacing, Trump couldn't resist boosting himself. At the conclusion of the rebuttal, in an exaggerated (even by Trumpian standards) riff about how he lives in a "25,000 square-foot penthouse atop my solid-gold space station," Trump ordered that the square footage be goosed to 50,000. He changed a line that read, "I'm sorry, I must go now and make a million dollars somewhere else," to a "billion" dollars. (The Huffington Post)

Comedy Central's senior vice president Jonas Larsen admitted Trump struggled with understanding humor: "One thing that stuck out to me during rehearsal is he would always poll the people around him if they thought it was funny. He never really seemed to have a grasp on what was funny and why it was funny. He was always looking at others to validate if it was funny," Larsen said.

I guess we just add this to his list of personality disorders?

You don't get my humor because as you've said yourself:
"But then I suffered accidental head traumas and I wasn't so bright anymore, some maintain even half-witted. Never got it back, obviously. Made me a very successful Army Officer, though, so there does exist a career path for dim-wits."

Go Army! Be all the dim-wit you can be!

Go ahead Gramps, fuck with me.

Amazing how you could bring up an old post of mine like that. Do you keep them in a catalog? Only one person on this site I knew ever did that.

Yes, I do engage in self-effacing humor. Do you ever? Or appreciate it in others?

    Obviously not.

And no, I don't get your humor. Because it's nonexistent. Except for the amusement you yourself get in belittling others.

But I'll be happy to throw it right back in your face. Interesting how some of you guys can dish it out, but you can't take it.

Bobby Boo boo, on laughs wh e n his telling the jokes, and mocking others. But don't think it to funny when the cards are turned. The little man being so very short, needs to pull others down to his level, to lift himself up; how bloody sad and pathetic. The Army is not known for taking the sharpest tools in the box.

Oh half brother Bobby. As I and other's have experienced first hand. You are normally first to fling the mud.

Other than the opening skits... SNL really has been kind of awkward attempts at humor lately.

Watching that third debate, there were times I thought it was Hillary vs. Alec Baldwin.

It seemed to me that Trump must have watched SNL so many times over, that he himself mimicked on the debate stage SNL's staged mimicry of him. SNL mocking or SNL mirroring?

As if we needed one more, it's just another reason why he shouldn't be president. He not only doesn't control his own thinking, doesn't own his own actions, he doesn't even own his own brain. The guy's a cartoon. His campaign as leader of the Republican party is nothing but Wile E. Trump for President.

I suppose we should be relieved he's just saying the show should be canceled rather than promising to jail the cast.

So your theory... Alec Baldwin studied trumps mannerisms to be as close to him as possible, and he did a good job... so good that Trump then took on Baldwin's mannerisms, and according to you he would make a bad president for behaving like how Baldwin portrayed him?

Ummm.... I don't even know how to logically reply to that. LOL

    I think he's saying it's a spiraling effect, a feed-back loop.

I'm waiting for Trump to allege that the debate was "rigged" - and that it was really Baldwin on the stage, not him.

"and that it was really Baldwin on stage"

    lol that's very funny

A feed-back loop yes. I suppose you could also look at it as a spiraling, not unlike a golf ball twirling down its tRump course hole or tRump's campaign itself but there actually is a thing to what I said and it's known as the chameleon effect which works pretty naturally in society, functioning to help people to fit in (say picking up a suthern twang after moving there) or it can help bind relationships (say by picking up a friend's laugh or gestures or sayings, etc. ).

In tRump's case, we know he doesn't read; rather, he watches a shit ton of television. We've heard his advisors pretty much admit that they try to instruct him while they're being interviewed on TV because they can only reach him from that side of the screen. That's how nutty this douche bag of a candidate is. So it would not be a stretch to imagine tRump obsessing over that SNL skit and having the chameleon effect actually kick in on that where normally it functions unconsciously in social situations, not when we're masturbating on the toilet, which is normally your alone time.

That he'd take on the characteristics of the mimicry of him and then exhibit on stage, I believe what we witnessed was a caricaturization of his own character in him now being his adopted self.

We don't see this in life very often (thank God) so it's good to study the phenomenon as made available.

And then why I said this just one more reason, as if we needed one more--we don't--to know that this guy ought not be president is that he's so weak minded, weaker even than his sipping beer from their hats core supporters, more than his weak minded Republicans who raised him to this level in their own greed & opportunism that they thought they could win with this scum, that never mind that his mind can't even separate itself from conspiracy theory, but it doesn't even separate itself from him watching Alec on SNL.

This is the fuck insane. And fuck the GOP for wiping its tRump on America.

Come November, America is gonna kick ya'll in yer Republican tRumps.

Kick'm in the tRump. Vote Democrat.

Nor would I. But it may be rhetorical, with some sarcasm referencing previous thread comments here.

Trump was the same as he showed himself during the debates as he's been all his public life. Back before Alec Baldwin was filming "Beetlejuice" or the "The Hunt for Red October" with Sean Connery a couple of years later. And who would have ever though at that time Baldwin would do the best Trump impersonation ever?

Well, age and weight do help. And a willingness to be silly, even clownish for a laugh, something The Donald cannot comprehend doing for himself. But that almost every truly great political figure in modern times can. A telling difference with Mr. Trump.

And why Trump did so poorly at the recent Al Smith dinner, where self-deprecating humor and a bit of silliness is expected. Even Hillary, who's no stand-up comedian, acquitted herself OK at the dinner.

And BTW, Hillary got tarred in that SNL skit, too. I don't hear her whining about it. Very revealing about the 2 candidates.

Baldwin has been doing a great job at playing Trump... I'm just baffled that someone thinks trump is takingbon his characteristics, when Baldwin has clearly been studying his mannerisms to be trump-like. Doesn't it make more sense that Baldwin is just doing that well having known trump for so long and seeing him on tv so much? Do we really think Donald is studying and obsessing over it so much that he is mimicking Baldwin?

I think that just sounds so silly. I mean this whole election is silly and the 2 candidates are disturbingly horrible... so nothing should surprise me, but I guess if trump fans can't be caught voicing silly concerns and theories it makes sense the anti-trump people can also have silly theories.
