Risk dispensation, the very loudest concern spoken by those initially opposed to implementing Prep to the wider community. It seems despite assurances otherwise, its clear that their is a clear correlation between increased numbers of men using Prep and alarming rises in other STI's some of which have been steady of in major decline prior to Prep implementation. This is not to say that Prep should be demonised nor is it what is at fault. Without some concerted intervention, outbreaks of STI's previously easily curable have begun to mutate in very problematic ways. Do we need to start a conversation about our attitudes to sex particularly now most men are less fearful or not concerned about HIV due to TASP and a number of reports a HIV cure or vaccine is immanent. The evidence is mounting that without a community wide conversation about how modern Gay Culture views sex, the benefits of Prep may become drowned out by new unforeseen detrimental sexual health issues. It doesn't have to but like it or not it will if we as a community don't take ownership of it

Some sources including some which are presenting opposing evidence for those who want to be scientific about these matters

I'm taking prep and I researched it and educated myself on it. So I know that it doesn't stop other sti''s. But all too often people take medication and fail to find out anything about it!! Doctors are too quick to prescribe drugs but don't take the time to educate u about it. People need to wake up and take responsibilty for their bodies and health. Don't be an idiot read a frigging book or basic biology.

Guys go on PrEP now so that they can bareback. It's not uncommon now to find guys that refuse to have sex with a condom. All the hookups sites and the publicly funded gay men's clinic promote sex with HIV positive men which is the same as promoting bareback sex. Gonnorea infection was up 18 percent in SF in 2015. It will be interesting to see where that goes for 2016. I would not be surprised if SF starts promoting itself as a Condom Free zone .

More likely the opposite. People are tossing aside sexual and emotional responsibility by grabbing at designer drugs like "Prep". Think "gays" are not "losing The Opportunity To Improve Overall Sexual Health"...more likely deepening the likelihood of weakened health by taking and becoming dependent on "meds" whose effects may suddenly change for the worse over time.

Oh I know it's sad and scarier is that the other sti are becoming drug resistant because of this mind set. Get educated wear a condom and get tested. That simple. Cause the fun times u thing u are having soon become the regrets you have later on. And being poz isn't the answer cause the medication has been shown to lower your lifespan

Irresponsible behavior and affordable drugs is what contributed to this. Punish the former by increasing the price of the latter. People learn best when you cut holes in their pockets.

A former college ballroom dance guy who I've fucked when he was here in school, is back after a few years abroad. He was pretty innocent back then but now, he's pretty damn experienced. He sent me pics this last week of him getting fucked like crazy, lots of positions and a huge cocked top giving him bareback. I asked about that, and he said he is on prep, and other STI's are easily treatable, so he's full board bareback now by default.
