Hey, so I am aware that this site isnt really made for guys like myself but Iwas wondering if muscular guys of my age range go for slim guys. I like muscular guys from an aesthetic stand point but also they can help me achieve my own fitness goals. Id like to be bigger (not huge) but if I had an encouraging boyfriend that would be good. Is muscular guys only going for other musculars more just because of this site?

Side note I do like guys my size and just average every day guys. Muscular guys are just my physical preference and we'd still need amazing chemistry.

My guess is most muscular guys like other muscular guys. It isn't a prejudice, it is a preference. To get muscular, you have to put in a lot of hard work routinely for years, learn about food and supplements, and sacrifice time and money and pizza all to achieve a certain look. As you go through the process, you become more and more aware of the ideal body and fine tune your efforts in the gym to get the look. So that is something you appreciate and have earned the right to the preference. I'm sure there are some muscled guys that like slim guys, like the difference, just as there probably are some who like younger, older, fatter, etc. Don't wait for someone who's put in all the time and effort to give you instruction. That is looking for a free trainer. Working out is an individual thing. Why not find another guy you like that has similar interest in shaping up and do it together? Or start doing it alone. I guarantee you'll have a better chance of meeting a fit guy if you're in the gym working hard just as he is. But you do have to be working hard.

    For the most part, no.
And the ones that do are usually older guys in their 40s and 50s.

Or you get just start taking roids and put in minimal effort for maximum results in a little as 3-6months. A lot of gays do it- especially porn stars.

That really isn't true. I know a lot of guys like to think this but the muscle still has to be broken down and rebuilt over time. Sure, it is quicker on roids and especially if the guy is young but it still involves lifting weight just at the max to failure repetitively, allowing the muscle to repair, then doing it again. It is still hard work and a many years process of working out just about every day. Plus diet and knowledge. I don't find the huge bodybuilders all that attractive, I like the "physique" look better. But I don't understand the constant need of some people to denigrate bodybuilders. I've been in gyms long enough to know what is involved and these guys work crazy hard. And I respect them for their accomplishment.

Dating anyone only for what you can get out of it doesn't work in the long run. I do date thin/smaller guys but don't workout with them because we are at different stages in the sport and it would slow me down

I personally wouldn't want to work out with someone who is just getting started and requires lots of encouragement.
I am no personal trainer...And I can see myself being frustrated at the guy.
Working out is like second nature to me at this point.

Typical non-gym guy. Thinks just because you want something, others who've worked hard should just stop and start with you. I explained what he'd need to know if he seriously wants to date a muscular guy. You offer nothing.

The funny thing is: OP is Canadian. Canada isn't Barcelona. Muscular guys are few and far between in this part of the world. It's hard attracting a muscular guy even if you are muscular yourself, such is the scarcity.

OP should try travelling to Barcelona during circuit party season to test his odds.

Looks only travel so far in a relationship. It only last for honeymoon period. The only way looks and body help is in the initial attraction but as things progress other concerns take over: emotional stability, lifestyle, one's ability to stimulate your mind, expectations from one's future.

In my view, build your muscles only if you want not because you it will help you gain the attention of other muscled men. The general perception is that muscular men go for men like themselves but that may or may not necessarily be true. Dating, relationship, love; they are complicated affairs. Having commented on your other threads, I am aware that you are longing for a relationship and stability with a guy who suit your preferences and that's fine and common but once you start contouring your mind or body or both just so that you could tap into dating world of people you think are not in your orbit right now could possibly lead to much bigger disappointments down the line.

Depends on the guy, some muscular guys like slim young twinks, it's hard to stereotype a person. Eh, just keep your eyes open, the
last guy I dated and slept with, he isn't usually the type I go for. But it's all good.

I've always been attracted to slim guys (including my current boyfriend) because I know damn well that I will never be slim. I'm somewhat muscular but don't really care that my boyfriend isn't. I'm not particularly attracted to very muscular guys. I just try to work with the body type I have, and I'm glad that there are skinny guys out there looking for more muscular types.

It doesn't quite work that way...You can't expect someone to motivate you...That's implying that your guy is also your part-time personal trainer. Find that drive on your own and go from there...Something about birds of the same feather (...) And to me you mentally screams wanting to be saved and made better, because you can't bring yourself to.
