Hey fellas!

I'm looking to start flatwater kayaking here in central OH as soon as the weather warms up.

Anyone know of any weightlifing routines that would help?

Anybody here into kayaking and have wisdom they would like to share.

Thanks guys!

Having just gotten into kayaking this year, myself, I can say that having a strong lower back, and decent pulling muscles (lats, shoulders, and biceps) will help out. Try rowing exercises, crucifix raises or ball busters, and biceps curls. The double bladed paddle does encourage some pushing motion in the opposing arm, so triceps would be good to work, as well.
