My laptop finally crashed yesterday. Oh the irony of Valentine’s Day!

Anyway, if you experience the same *knock on wood* …what could you be doing in lieu of the online time you’d be using for something else instead? Remember that repairs may take at least 5 days, so list at least 5 to-do things. I haz 10:

    1. Laundry
    2. General cleaning –both bed and bathroom!
    3. Change bedsheets and pillowcases –something I last did shortly before Christmas last year
    4. Call and visit friends
    5. Catch up on my readings and sleep (as a result of reading! Ha ha!)
    6. Sort out my CDs and DVDs –and listen/watch some that gathered dust
    7. Iron my work clothes for the week in advance
    8. Sort out my bills, pay slips, bank statements, etc.
    9. Sort and dispose of some knick knacks
    10. Go out for a run / cruise in the neighborwood

    Wash on your list???

I go outside and landscape the garden. I've a lot done, but still another 5 years of hard slog to go. One hole digging in rock and clay a truly big hole took me six years. The hole was about 20 feet round and seven feet deep, then I also had to fill it with good garden soil.

    Or I'll do house work.
    Shampoo carpet.

I have 3 bathrooms to clean.

We also have a number of receptions rooms, and the dust.
I always have something to do, and most times when I'm on the computer. they are not being done!

But not now as it's Midnight, and I'm about to clean my teeth and go to bed.

icon_eek.gif If you see something on the news in the near future about mass graves in Australia... you heard it here first.

My guess is he started this as a Y2K bunker and it's just become an obsession.

Curl up in a ball and sob?

My computer died a couple of months ago, and my budget didn't allow for the internet anymore. Now I highjack a neighbors wifi with my Wii.

It's amazing how much time I have now! Rock Band, catching up on books, cleaning, listening to my backlog of music, and actually getting enough sleep at night.

When I moved into my current place I didn't have cable or internet for about two or three months. Heck I didn't even have electricity for the first week! (damn electric company icon_mad.gif ) I did a lot of reading, a lot of organizing, and a lot of hiking.

It makes you wonder what people did at home before the internet. I guess they were more productive and watched more TV. I can only watch so much of that stuff.

Anyways during my episode of no internet I did a few things...

    Organized my iTunes
Did lots of maintenance on my computers
cleaned the heck out of my entire house
Always did my homework a head of time
watched TV shows which I never do

If I had nothing to do.. I'd be gone most of the day.

I know it's a big hole. Not only did a did it by hand with shovel and cow bar, I had to move all the shit I took out, and then fill it again with good new garden soil, just to plant a Grandiflora Magnolia, in it, down the back of the garden. Oh then I also have a trench. Ones about 15 feel long, 6 feet deep, and the other is about 30 feel long, still work in progress.

Its all about taking out clay and rock, and replace with something better.icon_biggrin.gif

One day last year, a work crew accidentally cut the main fiber optic line that runs along the river. I didn't realize how dependent we are on that one cable. For about a hundred square miles, no phone, no internet, not even cell phones (the towers are connected by fiber optics) for two days. And they managed to do it during a winter storm that also cut the power for a day.

It would have been rather relaxing, except I could sense the building mental anger from all of the customers to whom I couldn't deliver the reports they'd paid for.
