    They don't really show any of these $1 houses in the article but ... buyer beware as they say...

    I rehabbed houses before the market fell on the early 2000's. The saying, "you get what you pay for" is wise wordage.

    Im surprised some rich guy doesnt make an offer for most of detroit, wall it off and bulldoze the whole thing into a giant estate.

    In May [2014], a group ominously titled the “Detroit Blight Removal Task Force” released a report claiming that around 22 per cent of the city’s properties were “blighted” – vacant, damaged or considered dangerous. They also found that, of the 84,000 properties owned by public entities, just over 5,000 were occupied by squatters, making the city of Detroit, the report’s authors noted, “a very large and inadvertent landlord”.

    90% of the city of Niagara Falls, NY could be easily eradicated under a similar blight removal task force. icon_twisted.gif
