Look at the picture above and you can see where this driver broke through the guardrail, on the right side of the culvert, where the people are standing on the road, pointing. The pick-up was traveling about 75 mph from right to left when it crashed through the guardrail. It flipped end-over-end, bounced off and
across the culvert ou tlet and landed right side up on the left side of the culvert, facing the opposite direction from which the driver was traveling. The 22-year-old driver and his 18-year-old passenger were unhurt except for minor cuts and bruises.

Now look at the second picture below...

God sent some angels to watch over them for sure. Let's hope they use their new lease on life for good.

The details there are a little off, but the photos and overall story are real. That's pretty freaking amazing!

Wow, my chest so totally started pounding after seeing that. I might start believing in God after an experience like that.

OnStar or not, that would've been a disaster. People forget that we're careening down pavement paths at speeds MUCH faster than normal travel requires. It's fun to let the engine run, but more often than not, it's a dangerous thing. Hope they feel lucky to be alive.

Wow, that is some scary shit. They're lucky it doesn't get icy in the winter! I've heard before the reason for the guardrails aren't necessarily to keep you on the road but so people can tell when someone goes over the edge.

For some reason, those two posts made me think of the exchange I quote below from Christopher Durang's comedy The Marriage of Bette and Boo.. This comes from a scene near the end of the play. Bette is in the hospital with cancer. Her son, Matt, comes to visit her. They are Catholic.

Bette: I sometimes wonder if God is punishing me for making a second marriage outside the Church. But Father Ehrhart says that God forgives me, and besides the second marriage is over now anyway.

Matt: I don't think God punishes people for specific things.

    Bette: That's good.

Matt: I think he punishes people in general, for no reason.

Bette (laughs): You always had a good sense of humor, Skippy.
