So... My doc is asking me to get some BP readings through the day... at rest, before and after workouts and runs... I seem to be trending kinda high..

Does anyone have any recommendations on BP monitors that are portable and easy to use?

I've heard that the Omron (forgot model#) is generally the most accurate.
It came recommended by one of the top docs at the UMich hospital.

If you don't want to invest in your own machine (this may hinge on how long you have to do this and how often), they can also be found in most drugstores, including supermarket pharmacies. I'd recommend using the same machine (at the same pharmacy) so at least there is consistency rather than randomness introduced by different machines.

Omron HEM-780 is what came highly recommended.

You're right. It measures heart rate not blood pressure.

Thanks everyone... I've heard good things about Omron... I just wish they weren't so bulky... but the smaller units get worse reviews.
