    First, I would support biking. But we've gotta have infrastructure changes, that the politicians will never give us. More voters drive cars than bicycle, and the roads are designed to favor them. Biking on most South Florida roads is suicidal.

    Second, you've gotta have a favorable climate. The northern US snow belt is an obvious problem in winter. And summer in the southern states, like here, gets you sweating like a sauna. Depending on your job, and business attire, you may have to shower and change at your destination. In fact, that can be a problem almost year-round here in south Florida. Not to mention unexpected showers.

    I use a bike for a lot of casual local errands. But when I gotta look presentable, biking isn't an option.
