lawdawg04 started a good and interesting topic about the number one song played on your iTunes playlist. So I guess sorta continuing on with that...

What's your favorite song(s) to work out to, what really gets you going at the gym?

A little more interesting, what are some songs on your iPod you're glad other people don't know you're listening to while you're working out? (Like 80's, 90's, boy band stuff... I know someone out there is flexing to some Prince & Sheena Easton "You've Got The Look") icon_smile.gif

At home I like to do aerobic exercise to "Video Killed the Radio Star" (Buggles) and "Hungry Eyes" (Eric Carmen) as long as no one else is around.

Interesting timing on your question. I was taking a spinning class this morning. Two-Thirds of the way through we we're on a long "uphill" section out of the saddle, when I realized I was in an amazing groove. Just a I was feeling good about myself, I realized that I was grooving to "If You Wanna Be My Lover" from the Spice Girls. icon_redface.gif

The only way people at my gym would be able to tell that I was gay would be if they could hear what I'm listening to on my ipod.

I listened to Cher - When You Walk Away today at the gym. Boy, let's just say that if anyone had known it would've been the scandal of the century

Music has direct physical effects on me, mainly my heart starts pounding when the right song comes on. So, today, when I was doing the elliptical, Hearts on Fire remixed by Calvin Harris came on, and my heart rate went from about 170 bpm to 185 bpm in a matter of let's say 30 seconds before subsiding. I would probably die of embarrassment if some of my crappy mid-90s house music came on, same with Seal and old Moby.

I have a weak spot for Cyndi Lauper's "Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun." Ya...but it really gets me excited and pumped! haha

I was completely pumped up on doing my cardio yesterday when I didn't realize I was lip syncing to 'Get Naked' by Britney. icon_redface.gif

I'm not really a Brittney fan or any bubble gum pop, but I gotta say, when you're cycling, those beats are the best thing for cadence (and at times there's not enough oxygen going to my brain so I get too carried away and start lip-synching and do a little grooving)

Haha. I have Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" on my iPod, but more frequently listen to my Brian Setzer Orchestra playlist and a lot of old country (i.e. Sixteen Tons and anything Gene Autry). One time my plugs fell out and someone heard that I was listening to "Stand By Your Man" - it made for an awkward moment of explanation.

I workout to a lot of different stuff, but mostly tribal house mixes. Favorite DJ's are Abel, Manny Lehman, Tony Moran, Jaime J. Sanchez, Paulo, and the new stuff by Tracy Young. icon_biggrin.gif

I listen to a range of dance music, house, and some classic 80s-90s stuff. I have to admit, when I'm feeling the burn, nothing hits me up like 'It's Raining Men' by the weather girls ! Otherwise its all fun remixes and house music.

I'm not gonna lie - the first Marilyn Manson album (Portrait of an American Family) has quite a few songs that are great for working out (eek!@)

Frou Frou's "Holding out for a Hero" also is in regular rotation on my iPod.

OMG, no! That is so funny that you put up Stacey Q, so ironic, because when I thought of this subject for a thread, Stacey Q "Two of Hearts" came on my iPod on my way home from work. I was jamming right along with it and I thought to myself, "Dear Lord, what would people think if they saw me rocking out to this song."

I never did say what was my song for getting me pumped up though and it's probably still Offer Nissim Feat. Maya "First Time." I know... techno. I used to be a huge fan of Offer, but his sound gets old over time.

OMG... you're like my music soulmate icon_surprised.gif ... I've got all those DJ's in my MP3 player. Workouts go by much faster when you get lost in the music and picture yourself in a club. Here are a few others I have...

    Peter Rauhofer
    Offer Nissim
    Bryan Reyes
    Hector Fonseca
    DJ Ranny

I love Tribal... it must be a latino thing icon_smile.gif
