This is a message from Buddy Early, editor of Compete, The Gay Sports Magazine:

I'm interested in speaking with a GLBT athlete whose sports participation has been/is being affected by the economy. If you've got something to say on the topic, e-mail me at buddy@competemag.com.

    It will be pretty brief.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help in advance

When I have to spend money on fuel, I can't spend it on food.

I travel a lot to play...I was just in Harrisburg this weekend, so that's gas and a hotel. There's games I cannot play this season because I have to budget my air travel icon_cry.gif

How about an article about giving healthy people some tax breaks for a change... I spend a crapload of money on eatting well, gym memberships, and fitness and am way less a drain on the health care system than all the fatties that get sick... subsidies please!!!!!

I don't want to derail this thread, so I'll keep this brief. I feel the same way, syd_dude, but then I start to think about how good health is its own reward.

I'm no tax preparer, but aren't you able to write that stuff off on your taxes?

Well, I cancelled cable so I could keep my gym membership and pay my volleyball dues. Does that count? icon_smile.gif
