Now my mother knows i am into this sort of thing and has asked me to make one and help her contact her friend. I have tried to explain that the lack of control with this device will make it very difficult but she wont give so i'm going to do it.

I have been looking up all the lore of types of wood, incenses, blessings, etc i just want any extra ideas and knowledge. And any stories icon_smile.gif

I second what ebl333 said. It's a spiritual battle to get "them" to leave you or those you love alone, and I speak from experience (the getting them to leave part).

Um, unless you know how to get rid of uninvited guest, sure, keep using that method of 'invitation'. Why don't you Google Quija boards, or read Wikipedia to find the history about it.

Go ahead, keep playing it. icon_twisted.gif

What the hell? This has NOTHING to do with Gay Fitness Health or Life!?

Sure it does. by including "Life", this site is open to discussion of any aspect of any of our lives - including the use of ouija boards.

Some possible enhancements to the process.

    1) Sacrifice the white goat under the full moon.

    2) Draw a pentacle big enough to sit in on the floor with it's blood.

    3) Smear the ouija with your own blood and bingo! You'll be chatting with Marylin Monroe about JFK's cock size in no time at all.

p.s. In the event that you inadvertently raise a horde of flesh eating zombies, summon a major demon or call down the Sluagh upon yourself, you're on your own.

the ouija board is, as most use it, the metaphysical equivalent to unprotected sex, because you're inviting a spiritual entity without any divine authority or control over it, and with nothing to bind it or protect oneself. in traditional operations of spirit evocation the world over, there is usually a magickal circle or square or mandala, the magician stands in to protect himself, or at the least there are talismans and divine presences that are activated to protect him. in medieval goetic demon evocation, not only are the circle, talismans, and divine authority activated and invoked, but the demon being conjured is called into a triangle outside of the circle, that further binds it away from the magician, like a small prison cage. -all of this is very different from the middle school sleepover party scenario that the ouija board often finds itself in. that's not to say you can't use one effectively, if you know what you're doing.

first, erect a circle, about 9' diameter. this can be drawn in chalk, laid out in rope, or made of salt. it helps if you write divine names around it too, but that's more advanced. once its set, empower it to set the place apart as sacred and unbreachable by anything willing you harm, which is often done with intense visualization, and/or a mantra or prayer.

light a candle and invoke divine guidance and protection into the light.

burn a good incense- don't use the sticks, actually burn the real deal on a coal- a good all-purpose combination is frankincense, myrrh, and dragons-blood. other things can be added depending on the planetary associations of the spirit being summoned.

these things being done, make a petition to deity to grant you the power and authority to call and control your chosen spirit. then begin the conjuration.

when you feel like you're not alone any more, you aren't. it may manifest somehow, but usually (for me) its mostly an intense feeling of not being alone any more, or of something looming just over my shoulder- sometimes the air pressure changes suddenly and my ears pop, or the temperature drops, or the candle flame gutters violently.

when you're done asking your questions, make sure to dismiss the spirit thankfully, and make a closing prayer to deity, thanking it for its support of your operation.

final notes: it often helps to pray and fast the day before and of the operation, or for longer depending on the power of the spirit being called, to purify oneself for the ordeal. also, dont' ever sacrifice or give anything, or make any pacts- approach the spirit with an air of authority.

The use of the Ouija Board is just one of the more recent of a long line of divination aids which have been handed down since at least classical Greece in the West. Personally, I see very little in the way of major harm that could result from using one since it is a board game after-all - I believe the current copyright on Ouija is owned by Parker Bros. That being said, if you're looking for reliable results there are a few guidelines I would follow.

    i. Learn basic meditation practices, in particular zazen or emptiness meditations so you will be able to clear your mind from any personal biases during the process - the planchette is supposed to move, not your fingers or arms unless moving with the device.

ii. It helps to have the full name of the individual you are wishing to contact written on a piece of paper which is then hidden from your view. When you do make contact, ask the spirit its name which it should be able to spell out correctly - in addition it would be helpful if your mother or someone close to the person writes a series of questions down only the person would know how to answer and which should also be hidden from the view of the operator.

iii. If the person was fluent in a foreign language, ask it to answer one or two of your questions in that language. This way, you can double-check through a dictionary if it is or isn't the person.

iv. If you start receiving threatening messages, stop the operation and debrief with people who were present. Following that, light a candle, burn some incense or do any of the other things that would make the place seem spiritually pure. Helpful hint, if you want to go the holy water route, sprinkle that around the location while reciting the Lord's Prayer or Ps. 23. Water can easily be obtained from a Roman Catholic or Byzantine Church for a small $0.10 donation in the collection basket.

As for woods, don't worry too much about that but if you're hell-bent on making your own, pine works perfectly well as would sweet-wood or laurel. The latter wood was also used by Michel de Nostrodame in his water divination.

    Yeah, serious.

There are people who are saying all you need to do is this.....but that's even worse because you may forget something in the process and possibly make things worse.

My advice to you, stay away.

A piece of wood with letters & numbers on it. Nothing more icon_rolleyes.gif

Anything it tells you comes from within. Imperceptible movements of your hands rooted perhaps from within your brain somewhere? Perfectly natural most likely. Nothing spiritual about it.

I've belonged to a paranormal investigation team for 5 years. I've used many variations of the Ouija. I'm not sure how much I believe in their ability to help spirits communicate, but the success I've had was actually during a seance using the basic "in the toy section" ouaja board.

If you want to make one, I would just buy a polished wood of some kind and make sure that whatever you use for the planchette can VERY easily slide across the surface. You can message me if you wanna know more about it. But seriously, there's way too much science linked to the idea that our subconscious thoughts and subtle movements attribute to it moving.

I'm usually pretty skeptical about the supernatural, but... one time, my sister and I were messing around with a ouija board and wanted to "test" it, so my mom got us to ask how many pills were in a pill bottle of hers that neither of us ever looked in. The pointer went 3 6 3 7 3 6 3 7, like it was 'confused', so my mom opened the pill bottle and counted her medication, and there were 36 and a half. So... ever since I've been unable to write it off as nonsense.

Dangerous stuff. It works if you expect it to work. I have read that this sort of stuff can lead to insanity or even suicide.

Yes. you have to sacrifice several virgins to ensure you maintain power over the spirit and not let it get away. Also you have to wear pink bunny slippers and polka dot silk stockings to make it more afraid of you and not the other way around. Beware of the green thumbtack. It will kill you if it is inside a room during an ouija session. Draw a star on your forehead so you will be pretty. Do NOT wear a shoe on your head or you will forever be possessed by the spirit. Do NOT eat french fries because they are greasy. And most of all, do NOT lick the wall socket, the electrical spirits are very dangerous creatures.

    Well said.

To quote Michael Shermer "This whole business about talking to the dead, it turns out its no big deal, anyone can do it. It's getting the dead to talk back that's the hard part".

Newsflash folks: You are moving the little piece of wood, not a spirit. There are no ghosts haunting you or your house or anything else for that matter. This whole superstition is in your brain.
