So, I might be a tad prude...But I don't understand why gays are so quick to share their nudes. I don't have naked pics of myself anywhere.
Also, since when is that a way get someone's attention? I often have guys unlock their privates on here and other "dating" apps and say nothing else...I just personally block them right away. This last guy I was talking to over text just randomly sent me his nudes. I asked him why he would do that and he said he just wanted me to see them. Like WTF?!
That was such a turn off for me...icon_neutral.gif

I don't think it is a turn off. It is authentic, nothing to hide.

It's mainstream now, to be expected. Your mind and heart don't matter anymore just your body as an object for sexual gratification.

This happened to me a couple times on several apps. We were talking and then he sent cock dick pics lol. I was kinda annoyed
in the beginning but now I just think of it as Free Advertisement on his part Lol. I mean, after all, you wanna see what he's packing
and he's not misleading you in anyway. I've been in situations before where the guy seems great, the date went awesome
and then He took his clothes off.......icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif Disappointment.

That's all you will deem as valuable/worthy about yourself? Now, that's sad...

What's sad is you're so judgemental.

Some guys are exhibitionists. It turns them on and doesn't really have much to do with you.

I was being pessimistic earlier, I think guys are visual creatures.. Some, or the majority, are focused on physical features. I think prude evolves with social norms, the social norm now is pornos and hook ups, promiscuity.

Maybe that's why marriage is an important part of our past and culture; it allows people to find trust, honesty, and intimacy in another person that will honor love.

The answer is in your first sentence that you are a tad prude.

I don't give a fuck about one's choice of clothing or a lack of it. I don't make judgments about their character based on what they exhibit. Clothes were never made for modesty in the first place. They were made for style, for class differentiation, for protection against the harsh weather.

If I am on Grindr and if someone wants to share their nude pictures with me, I say go for it. The more I know about the person, the merrier.

OP gets bent out of shape over the same stuff he'd see in a locker room??? We're men, bro. We all come equipped. We take no shame in our parts. I occasionally send private pics unsolicited if a guy's been hanging out on my profile a lot. Usually I get a "thank you" and then we move on. It kinda moves the elephant on out of the room, ya know? To me, disembodied dick pics are weird, but I can just ignore 'em without gettin' all cattywumpus--I figure they must mean somethin' to the guy that sent 'em and not all guys think alike and that's cool. Chill, Dude. Peace out!

My thoughts, exactly. There's something un-masculine about prudery.

I think some of you guys are misunderstanding the OP. Don't put words into his mouth, he said "so quick to share", not sharing at all. Two guys talking and agreeing to exchange nudes is fine, but one guy randomly sending up close pics of his cum covered dick or puckered ass hole without any other discussion is rude. Its the same in real life - if we decide to get naked together then awesome. If you get naked in front of me without me having reason to expect it (like in a locker room), then it is illegal. Not saying the pics on grindr should be illegal, but have a little respect for the others and at least ask us if we want those first or not!

Your first 3 lines are the same argument that straight guys have for not understanding how a gay guy likes seeing naked guys "how do you get excited over something you see all the time in the locker room, and on yourself. We are all men, we all have the same equipment." So you ask "what gets you bent out of shape over same stuff he'd see in locker room?" and I could ask you the same "what makes you want to show men pics of the same stuff you can show them in the locker room"

But no, I don't see hard dicks in the locker room at my gym. I also don't have guys bending over and making sure I have an up close look at their ass holes. I

Yes. I've mentioned before that being shy when I was a young boy in the 1950s was considered un-manly.

If you didn't wanna strip for a gang shower, or to go swimming, the adult supervisor or coaches would yell at you: "What's the matter with you? Are you a girl? Some kind of sissy? We all look alike!"

Meaning boys & men all had the same stuff down there. And sometimes we saw adult men naked, too, swimming or showering. The big surprise to me when I was about 8 was the dark furry thatch mature guys had. I never saw my Father naked, nor did I have a brother.

Sissy was a code word for gay, but I didn't know that yet. Point is, masculine men had no social shyness when nude. Someone who was shy might be thought to be "queer".

Nowadays in the US that's effectively reversed. Be too comfortable nude in the locker room and you're a queer. A straight guy does his towel dance. How that change happened I dunno.

Although I have nude pics on my profiles on other sites, I would only send them to a guy if it was clear he wanted them.

If I'm going to have sex with a guy, I'd rather know what he looks like nude.
