Well, I guess it happens to the best of us ( icon_razz.gif ). I fell asleep in this home office chair, and woke up around 2 AM. We'd had a long day, up by 6 to be at a clinic for his X-ray studies by 7:30 AM, and then over to our doctor's office, and other errands. So while watching TV I just zonked out around midnight, I think.

Waking up, I wondered if I'd taken my evening pills, due around 10-11. I couldn't remember.

To be safe, I reasoned, I should take them. Well, this morning I was a kinda a zombie. My husband noticed my slurred speech, and accused me of drinking. In the morning? As I wake up?

I was puzzled, and finally realized I had double-dosed. Kinda dangerous with the heart meds, plus my epilepsy med acts as a sedative. So I took my blood pressure and pulse. (We have a home machine)

The lowest I have ever seen it in my life. But we decided not yet into ER territory. It confirmed I had in fact double-dosed, but we were confident the effects would pass. I'm OK, have been all afternoon, just a little unsteady on my feet.

We've decided that tomorrow we go to a drug store (pharmacy/apotheke), and buy a 7-day box for meds. I bought one for him years ago, who has way more daily meds than me. But if I can't keep track of even less, I guess I need one myself.

It doesn't tell me when to take the meds (there are apps and hi-tech boxes and all this crap that alert), but what it does is visibly tell me whether I have, or have not, taken my meds. The pills are either in their little transparent daily box, or they're not.

So we get that tomorrow. We never waste time when we've made a decision. US drug stores are open on Sunday. And if you must take pills on a strict regular schedule yourself, as we must, you might consider that same method. Simple, cheap, and direct.

Thank god you're okay. Yes, I was going to suggest the pill case.
