    At one time, people in the US ate approximately 100 pounds of meat a year, less than 50 pounds of sugar a year, and 300 pounds of dairy.
    Now, people in the US eat approximately 220 pounds of meat a year, over 125 pounds of sugar a year, and 600 pounds of dairy.

    In the 1950s there was the thought that people needed a whole lot more protein.
    Heart disease started rising in the 1960s.

    1973 - Farms Subsidy Bill was passed. Incentivized massive increase in corn production. The surplus led to high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) being added to foods. It was put into soda pops and even hot dogs. This fools the human body's mechanism of satiation. The HFCS made food richer/denser [caloric density].

    Artificial food like HFCS fools the body into thinking it has not had enough to eat.

    500 calories of plant food fills the stomach and satiation is reached.
    500 calories of artificial food fills the stomach less.
    500 calories of bad fats fills the stomach even less.

    Rich foods like some delicious, naughty ice cream or donuts appear to pleasure receptors to be rewarding in terms of nutrition but they are not, unlike ancestors finding a peach on a tree. Pleasure receptors become addicted.

    Calorie-rich / nutrient poor food is to be avoided.

    Mac Danzig, Ultimate Fighter Champion eats this way.
    He doesn't eat dairy. He cut out chicken and dairy and then became vegan.

    Mac Danzig is an American mixed martial artist, who competed as a lightweight in several MMA promotions, most notably the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
    Years active 2001-2014. He retired due to too many concussions.

    Children and aging women have been singled out to drink more dairy to get Calcium.
    I remember people who bought into that.

    Countries with high consumption of dairy products should have low occurrences of osteoporosis, according to "Drink more milk and dairy for healthy bones."

    Hip fractures are higher in nations high daily calcium intake.
    As mg/Calcium consumed increases, hip fractures increase. (Hip fractures are a key indicator for osteoporosis.)

    Mechanism for This Increase in Osteoporosis as Dairy Consumption Increases:
    Animal protein creates metabolic acidosis.
    What is an acid buffer? Calcium in our bones. So, bones are weakened when we eat animal protein and dairy.

    Ruth, a former marathoner, had cancers. Chemotherapy and radiation was recommended.

    Diet can reverse breast cancer, a medical doctor told her..
    She rejected the chemotherapy and radiation recommendation.
    She changed her diet, participated well in her age group in an Ironman triathalon. Arthritis, constipation, and depression disappeared.

    After changing to a plant-based diet, the narrator's C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
    score went down from 6.0 to 2.8.
