Was it right for the media to post the picture of battered Rhianna?

Did this serve the public interest?

I was stunned that the photo started to float around the internet (and TV) courtesy of TMZ. At first blush I took it as a complete violation of the rights of someone who is the victim of abuse.
But then I started to wonder if the photo had a purpose- If people actually saw what she looked like they could not excuse Chris Brown for what he did..
But in the end I go back to my original thought- it was WRONG to put the picture out there,

    What do you think?

The best that might come out of this is if she's goes public on him, or writes a song "if he does i once he'll do it again." It would be a good song for battered woman everywhere. Like that Janet Jackson song What about!!

Can someone post Janets song (great video) it's late and I am in between 25 e-mails for work! Night...men.icon_cool.gif

    Thanks in advance.

Just read that TMZ paid $62,500 for the battered Rhianna picture. Doesn't say very much for society me thinks....

Showing that photo will only make it more difficult to find an impartial jury, because everyone has seen the photo by now..It'll be hard to not feel bias'd on rhianna's behalf or toward chris brown...

It's not the media you should be mad at
It's the LAPD for placing it out there to the highest bidder

Well, the tragic irony of it all is her most recent single "Rehab," where she pretty much reads herself. I can only hope the mere fact she's staying by his side means there's a whole side of the story we will probably never hear...not sure our community can handle another Whitney and Bobby train wreck.

And speaking of the price they pay for pictures...I can only imagine how much that jerkoff made from the picture of Michael Phelps.

I think it was just in very poor taste. No one needed to see those photos. I know I did not look at them nor will I. Just hearing about the terrible thing that was done to her was enough. Can you imagine the terror she must have felt! There is just no coming back from this! I never watch or read rags like that.

Forget about a song the best thing she can can is to testify at his trial. A song are youi kidding me. Put this monster behind bars. He gives MENN especially African American men a very bad name. Anyone who is the agressor and batter someone else is not HUMAN!icon_biggrin.gif

There is NO EXCUSE to batter man, woman, child or elderly person!

    Isn't it illegal?

LAPD also made an official statement saying they were searching for whoever did it.

Anywho, it wasn't right. If she wanted it made public to serve as a "this-could-happen" then it would be acceptable. Unfortunately, that was not the case and TMZ and LAPD violate her privacy especially under such circumstances.

Whoever sold the picture to the media needs a big boot up their ass.

The quick buck overrides any sense of humanity; a woman (no matter what's her status) gets beaten and her picture is posted up for everyone to gawk at like a circus entertainer. So much for 'confidential'.
