I can speak on the corporate world (as well as the Medical field) but not the blue-collar fields
In the office world, somebody with no degree would be best off working in sales b/c if you're a good salesperson then you can make an awesome salary. However, the best sales jobs like to see a track record of success before hiring you; while most of the crappier ones literally don't give a crap.
Almost all of the good-paying office jobs require at least a bachelors degree (unless you have great connections). However, you could work in Billing, Customer Service, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Telemarketing, Call-Center and a Receptionist, Collections and make around $13 - $20 an hour in most parts of the country; with pay slowly rising with experience. If you move to a port city then you can work in Imprts/Exports at a shipping company and make decent money with no degree; it especially helps if you have a TOUGH personality and can speak another language. I used to work in this field and the money definitely is there but most of the people in that industry are disgusting so I left.
As for the medical field, you can work in dialysis after passing the boards and easily make $20 an hour as a tech. Nursing (RN), Ultrasound Tech, Xray Tech are some good programs and/or associates degrees that aren't too long where you can EASILY clear $65k a year once you finish. My boyfriend is an RN who is studying to be a Nurse Practioner.
