I've had quite the cold for about a week now. I Can barely stand for more than a minute before a have to relax again. I go through a box of KleenexPlus Lotion © a day icon_wink.gif I havent been to the gym becuase I have no strength and, of course, I dont want to pass this cold onto anyone else....

I was wondering what some of you do to pass the time while you are getting better?

So far, i've watched Season 1 of Heroes...very good show icon_biggrin.gif

    Thank you much,

Sorry to hear that you are sick ...and for so long. The runny nose is good...nature's way to flush out the bacteria, etc in the sinuses.

I like to rest with a heating pad over my sinuses too. Soothing and it pulls the blood up to the sinus area.

Hot shower pounding on my sinuses feels good too. Again, increases circulation to the area.

To pass the time, I read ...and fall asleep!

any kind of humor always helps! icon_smile.gif

    Hope you feel better.

P.S. try eating a lot of chicken and have some Tylenol
Cold- multi symptom. It works for me.

For some reason, I only watch the Discovery channel and its ilk when I have the flu. I'll usually see someone I know on there, and send them an email about how silly they looked. (The filmmakers usually twist what you say to make it silly.) Once in a great while, I'll see myself pop up on there. For some reason, it doesn't usually hold my interest unless I'm sick.

When I am really sick with a cold I sleep as much as possible and consume oranges! When I am not sleeping I read, watch movies, spend time on the computer. The secret to getting better fast though is lots of rest.

Funny this topic should pop up... I'm home sick from work today. But, there's so much going on at the office that I'm connected via VPN on my laptop, while I do non-work stuff here on my desktop PC.

I think it's just lots of soup, fruit, veggies, and hot herbal tea for me today. I did do some stretching, at least, but don't really feel up to much more than that today. I may take a nap later, if I run out of steam, but other than that I'll be doing homework. No rest for the wicked, I guess.

how about you use the time to learn basic spelling and grammar?

like the difference between "your" and "you're" ?

A comma should precede "mister" in your last sentence.

a hot tottie is what you need:

take 2 ounces of hot water as hot as you can stand to drink all at once... 1 ounce of whiskey.. 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of lemon/or lime juice. stir and drink all at once.... then go to bed... cover up and sleep... you will sweat like crazy sleep well and wake up in good shape

Also, we never get sick so I don't know how to help you....icon_redface.gif

Just do what I always do, keep telling yourself you are not sick over and over until you're not. Mind overmatter (most times)icon_wink.gif

I typically load up on aleve and other medications at the first sign of getting sick, and stay on them until it goes away, so I usually only feel it for a little bit every day between medication doses. I don't recall the last time where I've been sick enough to where this approach hasn't worked.

Airborne really works for me. I make my bf do it, too and even though he hates it he admits it helps.

Came down with a lovely bug on Thanksgiving, and I've spent the weekend coughing so much that my entire ribcage (even around the back) is awfully painful when I cough, sneeze, or laugh.

Any suggestions to alleviate that, aside from Tylenol or something? I'm probably going back to the office tomorrow, now that the fever has finally broken.
