The best fish fry around here is at Camelot in Appleton, WI, which is a sports bar and grill. The lake perch is really good and it is only $9.95. You get 5 big fillets and your choice of fries or potato salad, rye bread, and cole slaw. Best to get there early because they do get busy later and it can be as much as an hour wait for a table, if you get there after 5 pm. They do carry outs, too, but during the peak rush, it can be a little wait.

I am more familiar with haddock fish fries because that is the fish most commonly used here in western New York.

They serve haddock here, too, but is always a cheaper fish and not as good as lake perch. Most places charge about $15 for lake perch because perch is becoming very scarce in Lake Superior, where the lake perch are harvested commercially. When it comes to fish, I will only eat lake fish, such as perch, crappies, bluegills, or walleye. I have a lot of crappies and bluegills in the freeer that I caught myself at White River Mill Pond near Wautoma. Nothing really beats my own fish frys. Guaranteed! But it's nice to go out for fish frys once in awhile rather then cook myself.

Fish & Chip Shops, still being common place Down Under.
I love a nice piece of Flake, from the Gummy Shark.
    Or even Flat Head.
