AKA What's your favorite ab exercise?

Yes, I know it's another ab post on this absessive site, but I think this is a good one. I always start with the mindset that I'm going to do so many set of crunches today, and after awhile I just lose motivation cuz it just doesn't feel all that rewarding.

There's this machine at my gym called a TheraCrunch, and I have never been so excited to go to the gym just to work on abs. I get the same rewarding feeling as I do with dips and squats. It's like I'm doing an bicep curl with my abs; the entire muscle gets flexed and you can add weight resistance.

Most pleasurable? Um... I think we're supposed to keep this "PG rated..."

well I much prefer using a dumbell to add weight and do crunches at the following cadence 10/15/10 I often find machines restrict the full range of movement and offer limited engagement

But for the abs it would be a straight legged hanging leg raise, cos it looks cool and not many can do it

    Failing that cable ab crunches

But for the obliques for that instant make over feel it has to be woodchoppers without a shadow of a doubt

I like crunches/twisting crunches on the swiss ball.

And I have a wonderful love/hate relationship with hanging crunches and hanging pike-ups.

I am still a little weak from the stroke I had two and a half years ago. I would love to find an ab exercise that doesn't require laying on the floor.

There is a cybex ab crunch machine at my gym. It feels great when you're done!! You can add up to 250 to your crunch.icon_smile.gif

chaser there are more ab exercises that are not on the floor than on as on is an extremely limiting, but to be honest I wouldnt overtly concentrate on more than one exercise at the second one set of 12 would suffice

If you chose one go for a cable ab crunch as thats kneeling

I envy any guy that can do them as they look cool as its total control which is why I love the straight leg hanging leg raise, if I try V ups I look lke a drowning fly! icon_lol.gif

the ones I like watching and laughing at, sorry for the deviation here, are what I call ab bouncers.

You know the type guys that read somewhere about fast twitch muscles so what do they do? 1001 crunches at a zillion miles an hour with only partial range ie not full extension and contraction and zero control!

I dont really have a favorite ab excersize. The only thing I concentrate on when I do them is proper form. If you do proper form, every ab routine will be pleasurable.
