Well, now I really need to see Milk.

That's as good a way as any to thank Sean Penn and show support for the cause.

I thought Sean Penn was very deserving of the Oscar. His performance in Milk was really convincing and moving. It's a fantastic film.

Yes, Sunday, first thanks go to Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen for producing this film, and to the words of Dustin Lance Black. This film has been in limbo for many years for a couple of different reasons. Lance Black found the heart and soul and put it into the script. Sean Penn truly inhabited the role of Harvey Milk.

I think thanks should also go to Craig Zadan and Neil Meron who, for many, many years attempted to produce "The Mayor of Castro Street," based on the book by openly gay journalist Randy Shilts (author of "And the Band Played On"). At one point both projects were going to be made, then "Mayor of Castro Street" folded for probably the last time.

Either way, I'm glad Harvey Milk's story was finally told and told well.

Sean Penn is just a great actor period. My other favorite films by him hands down are: I am Sam and At Close Range both are great films. Modonna actually performed the title song on the sound track for the movie At Close Range "Live to Tell".

There were many noticeable celebrities that were supporting our 'cause by wearing the white ribbon as well as verbalizing their support for us either on Red Carpet or on stage itself, and THAT was GREAT to hear and see!

He joined an elite class of actors who dared to be a part of a film that attack issues that we are still gun shy about discussing to name one.

"White Man's Burden" ( Starring John Travolta/Harry Belefonte)
    John's best work to date.

Just like Milk the film of it was plagued with production problems $$$$$$
But it got made. John even took a cut in salary because of the social issues of the film were so important! Milk is rigt up there with this film.

An excellent actor who utilized his considerable talents to good effect in "Milk". Personally for myself the movie was a reminder of the courage that was shown by the early gay rights activists like Harvey Milk. Very few people are capable of doing what he did.
