I was reading in the newspaper that too much sex too can cause prostate cancer (sorry I can't remember when). This is complete opposite of what was previously reported. I'm confused and & I don't know what to believe.

Have any of you read such news?

No, like you I have heard that stimulating the prostate through having orgasms on an ongoing basis is linked to a decrease in prostate cancer.

I personally take these medical studies with a grain of salt. Unless you take a close look at the data, it does not necessarily mean much.

They dont know jack (no pun intended) about what causes prostate cancer.

Testosterone is a major contributor to the growth of prostate cancer, but they can't figure out what it does exactly. It seems counter-intuitive, because you dont get prostate cancer when you are young and have your highest levels of testosterone, but as you get older and your testosterone levels are falling naturally, you get it.

Basically, prostate cancer, like all cancers, is a genetic malfunction. But there is apparently a variance in the degree of expression of the genetic malfunction. Some can get prostate cancer and has such a mild effect on the cells (plus prostate cancer is pretty slow growing) that they dont even treat it....or at least they didnt used to treat.....some drs are having second thoughts on that. Others, like mine, can be very aggressive and very dangerous.

The only time that I have heard of whacking off being discussed with prostate cancer is after treatment. You gotta wank to keep your cock in working order as it recovers.....provided your nerve bundles to Mr Happy were spared and you can still feel an orgasm.....I pity those poor bastards who lose those nerve bundles. Can you imagine living the rest of your life without an orgasm! .... icon_eek.gif .... I remember the reaction of one poor guy when he discovered that he wasnt going to produced any cum anymore....apparently his dr failed to mention that previous to treatment. He basically wanted us to tell him "it aint so." oh, it's so. You dont need the kleenex box on the bedstand anymore. But the trade-off, if you still have your nerve bundles, is that the orgasm is more intense, just not messy.

Get your blood test. Early detection is easy treatment.

Can you name the newspaper, so we can check them online for the source? I also thought that very low sexual activity is more likely to produce prostate problems, including cancer. And what is "too much sex" for a man?

Regular masturbation reduces the risk of prostate cancer by reducing the amount of carcinogens in the seminal fluid. Frequent sexual intercourse is a nebulous area.

Too much sex 'may increase' prostate cancer risk

MEN who are very sexually active in their twenties and thirties are more likely to develop prostate cancer, according to research from the University of Nottingham.
However the UK research team also found that frequent sexual activity in a man's forties appears to have little effect and even small levels of activity in a man's fifties could offer protection from the disease.
The study, led by the University of Nottingham, looked at the sexual practices of more than 431 men who had been diagnosed with prostate cancer before the age of 60.
Men who took part in the study were asked about all aspects of their sex life from their twenties onwards.
The group with prostate cancer had been more sexually active than the group who did not.
Almost 40% of the cancer group had had six female partners or more, compared with 31% of the control group.
Men with prostate cancer were found to be more likely to have had a sexually transmitted disease than those without prostate cancer.
"We were keen to look at the links between sexual activity and younger men as a lot of prostate cancer studies focus on older men as the disease is more prevalent in men over 50," said lead author Dr Polyxeni Dimitropoulou.
"Hormones appear to play a key role in prostate cancer and it is very common to treat men with therapy to reduce the hormones thought to stimulate the cancer cells.
"A man's sex drive is also regulated by his hormone levels, so this study examined the theory that having a high sex drive affects the risk of prostate cancer."
The study is published in the January issue of BJU International.

Maybe men with overactive sexual activity memories get prostate cancer. ... icon_eek.gif

The recent Nottingham study seems to contradict the earlier published Australian study..

I guess we will have to wait for a third and fourth study to be published to determine what the truth is. It is not uncommon for medical studies to contradict one another. Google " coffee and pancreatic cancer" you will find multiple conflicting articles

Like one should restrain his sexual activity in his 20s and 30s because he could possibly maybe get prostate cancer later in life. Ya gotta keep some perspective in life. What's the hell's the use of living if you arent having any fun. ......Hell, stay away from trees; one might fall on you.

Besides, at the rate medical science is going, prostate cancer isnt going to be that much of a problem. So if you are young, dont worry about it. If you are older, well, too late.

I say go for the sex and chocolate and let death try to catch you!

honestly i think things like this are totally bogus hahaha for lack of a better term :-p

EVERYTHING causes cancer now, starlight causes cancer, masterbations causes cancer, flouride in your water causes cancer, stress causes cancer

i mean obviously some studies are true like smoking and bad food

but with the exception of whats obvious it isnt really worth the time to read these things in my opinion, i mean, there is so much crap in our food that probobly causes cancer, because of all the proscessinf, even in my favourite sweet and mildly healthy snack, a chewy honey and oat bar!

next they will be saying the natural flavanoids in carrots and peas cause cancer :-/

really i think the best thing to do is not fret, try to eat healthy, based on common sense and a little knowledge, dont do things thats are OBVIOUSLY bad, but dont worry about the stupid little things like that, and try to avoid things that arent natural like foods that arent straight from the animal or ground, medications that arent totally unavoidable (meaning try to not take pain pills and allergy pills unless your all but dieing from your symptoms) and extreme health hazards like narcotics, alchohol, smoking and radioactive watse! lmao! icon_biggrin.gif

I think it would be stupid for guys in their 20s now to forego sex because it might possibly cause prostate cancer 30 years from now.....30 years from now they will have a cure or be able to grow you a whole new prostate.

I'm in my 50s, so for me any damage has been done long, long ago.

Frankly, in a world where guys take the risk of bareback sex with strangers, I can't imagine a lot of 20-something gay men abstaining from sex for fear of prostate cancer.

The news article is so f*ckin stupid. Typical how they want to alarm others with no real facts....

    Friends,
Live a Holistic life and eat right. Take supplements that heal and cure prostate issues.

Lots of fresh tomatoes and greens along with a low fat diet are the best ways.

You can also take SAW PALMETTO, great stuff and will help at any age.

It can also reverse the damage of cancerous prostate.....NO MEDICAL DOCTOR EVER TOUCHES ME....NEVER!!
