    The article said:

Toomey said that there was “no secret plan” to do so, while Rubio said he opposed cuts to either program for current beneficiaries. However, neither closed the door to changing the programs for future beneficiaries.

Discussion of a “secret plan” is an evasion. Is there ANY plan to gut Social Security? Which is an insurance plan we pay into, BTW, not a free entitlement handout, as Republicans try to portray it.

Cutting back on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is dead wrong, period! This is another issue that I strongly disagree with President Trump. Instead he needs to cut the horribly bloated defense budget. I find these proposed cutbacks to Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare is disgraceful and highly unAmerican.

    AMEN

although, and im sure most people on here probably dont understand basic economics enough to realize it, it would be a blessing if some politician, ANY POLITICIAN, would level with the electorate and be honest about why something is going to have to be done about both social security and medicare or neither will exist for any generation beyond the baby boomers

this simple idea is lost on people who refuse to educate themselves on basic economics so perhaps, in the long run, they get what they so deserve

Not really. Under current law, because of the planned deficit increase, Medicare appropriations MUST be cut - approximately 4%. The same for Medicaid.

They need to stop the waste and fraudulent crap in all these departments. That would save billions

Does that include the nearly $100,000,000 in taxpayer money spent in 12 months to fly Trump, his family and official entourage to Trump resorts? Mostly for 111 days of golfing? So far a third of his presidency.

Wasn't this the same Trump who as a candidate pledged he'd work diligently from the White House once in office? Compared to his nemesis President Obama, who as we all know, was constantly vacationing & golfing. Except Trump has now exceeded Obama's figure 4 times over. He's even passed Republican GW Bush, who was the previous vacation holder.

Those would be some big savings. Trump just needs to stay in the White House and do his damn job he pledged to do! He and the Republicans should do less budget slashing for everyone else and practice more fiscal restraint on themselves.

Liberals: Thanks for supporting Millionaires receiving Social Security. That works out to about $3000 per month for each Millionaire.

Guess who already tried to make cuts:

Now we know who the real party of the rich is: Democrats
