So I want to start wearing compression shorts or pants to the gym on leg day. I have been looking around and have found some that I think might be pretty decent. But I was wondering if anyone here had input on what brands they swear by. I see some guys at the gym that wear them. some of them are pretty funny and others are pretty flamboyant. Just the other day I saw a guy with compression tights with a Pac-man design from ankles to hips. It was kinda funny since it made me remember my 1980's video game playing days. Then there are these two guys that wear some very bright fluorescent hot pink tights. That's not gonna be me. icon_lol.gif

This was what I was thinking of. It has some pretty good reviews on amazon:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MD2FSKT/ref=sspa_dk_detail_1?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01MD2FSKT&pd_rd_wg=FKHUS&pd_rd_r=3ZFD8W9RY78TF3WWWVBV&pd_rd_w=pNqxN

And since it's winter I thought of getting the long pants version:

    https://www.amazon.com/Mava-Mens-Compression-Long-Leggings/dp/B06XG45D11/ref=pd_bxgy_200_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06XG45D11&pd_rd_r=34Y19NS44CH6224GS24C&pd_rd_w=maFBo&pd_rd_wg=PwMFw&psc=1&refRID=34Y19NS44CH6224GS24C

    I kinda like these too:

Looking at different brands the prices range from $16 to over $100. I imagine you get what you pay for but thought I would get some input by anyone who has some experience.

    Thanks.

Mava and 2xu are very good brands. Also check out Virus and UnderArmour they are excellent. I have a few from all of these. I love Virus (https://virusintl.com/
Great compression and good price. Amazon is filled with various styles of leggings. What I found is that price does matter. If you want good compression and quality you’ll have to spend above $50. But you’re right you can find various prints and colors for men’s leggings now. But for your first pair stick with black or navy blue. When you buy more you can add prints and more wild colors. I use them for leg day and for running. Fun to wear and very functional.

After my RPM spin classes, I work out in my bike shorts which are like compression shorts, except for the pad in the crotch.

I have under armour running tights and compression pants which are awesome. No I dont go wearing hideous baggy shorts over them like some of these conservative prudes. That looks fucking ridiculous and it serves no valid purpose.

After doing my research it's been made pretty clear that compression shorts with a black waistband band along with the brand name is an indication that they are underwear and shouldn't be worn by themselves. Basically, if it doesn't have a drawstring at the waist but has a black banded waist with the logo it's underwear. That's explains why they're cheap.

Example of undewear (notice the logo and black band at the waistline):

Actual compression shorts that have a drawstring

I don't get it - the fascination with compression pants. Is there any there benefit besides looking hotter to other gym-goers?

Absolutely. The compression helps with fatigued muscles. It's not the same as a knee or wrist wrap. But the concept is similar and it's like an extra support layer.

I received a pair this past weekend and tried them on. They felt so good I wore them for the rest of the night around the house.

Anything that compresses your balls isn't good for you. Especially if you want have babies some day.

So, are you telling us that you're thinking about becoming pregnant sometime soon? If so, then I guess no compression pants for you...!
