The display of hubris by the Chinese researcher is both stunning and laughable!
"Historically, every advance in cryptography has been defeated by advances in cracking technology," Jian-Wei Pan, a researcher at the University of Science and Technology of China and author on this research letter, wrote in an email. "Quantum key distribution ends this battle."
Uh huh. The entire history of cryptography is a repeated game of cat and mouse. Every major advance leads to claims that the newest system is unbeatable and then some clever and/or lucky person figures out a way to crack it.
