Hey guys! Anyone out there following the keto diet while developing/maintaining a heavy lifting routine? What about while developing/maintaining met-cons, for speed and/or stamina? How does keto effect your overall performance?

I've been paleo for about 7 years now and keep a higher fat count then most people but my carb intake isn't low enough to push me into ketosis. I've been very pleased with the results but I've noticed I generally feel better when I increase fat intake versus my carb intake, which makes me consider going keto. I'm just concerned it may have a negative impact on my overall gym performance. Thoughts?

I constantly outperform young guys on
a pizza and coke diet even at my advanced age. Running on fat rather than sugar /carbs is definitely The way to go. Switching to Keto was like being 20 years old again. Low fat diets were a huge hoax.

Is Keto the new name for Paleo? Or is there a difference.

Keto is one aspect of Paleo diet. Fat burning rather than sugar burning metabolism.

"Aspect?" Can you explain the differences between the two diets?

I did the KETO diet last year at this time. I lost way too much weight, to the point my friends told me I look ill and to stop it. And looking back on photos from then, I really don't know why I did it in the first place because I really didn't look good. I feel the diet is unnatural and practically impossible to do long term; not to mention a lot of people are saying it's harmful long term. I will say this about it though....I would just wake up in the morning and be "in the mood" to go running. But other than that, I found it to be a huge hassle.
