Plooje saidThis professor should be thankful to the USA for allowing him to stay here 30 years illegally.
Your a fucking idiot, and if you actually read the article in its entirety it says very clearly that he came into the United States legally and has been in the U.S. legally under student visas and then an H1-B visa that just expired. This guy probably has more formal education and marketable skills than you will ever have in your entire life.
Apparently you have never known anyone who has tried to come into this country LEGALLY. USCIS law specifically states that you must leave the country on or before the date your visa expires. That is known by everyone who obtains a visa.
In addition, if you are here legally and you want to extend your visa, you must LEAVE THE USA and apply for a new visa in your home country.
Is it a ridiculous system? Yes.
Has this law been on the books for decades? Yes.
Did Obama and the Democrat Congress in 2009-10 do anything to change the law? No.
Have millions of people abided by the law at great cost and inconvenience? Yes.
The USA kept its end of the bargain. It didn't deport him while he was here legally. Conversely, the USA expects people here on visas to keep up their end of the deal. This guy did not.
