Yep, the twist is that it reacts alkaline in the body as does lemon juice. Google three day Apple diet for “kidney” stones . You won’t believe the results.

As a Naturopathic Physician it is a natural element that I've witnessed give many benefits to patients....especially anti-inflammatory benefits.

So I had to look this up, what I am afraid of is the acidity of drinking this stuff, even mixed with water and lemon. Maybe most people don't but I have a sliding hiatal hernia (stomach) that causes my acid reflux (this ACV is supposed to 'cure' acid reflux)

My constant use of proton pump inhibitors, ranitidine hydrochloride or calcium carbonate to treat GERD would defeat the purpose of using ACV, at least the way I see it. These treatments for my GERD reduce or cut off the natural acid produced enzymes in the stomach which then get filtered thru the kidneys

I would have to surgically get my hernia fixed (closing the hole in my diaphragm) which is the real cause of acid reflux, before attempting to correct the pH in my system. If I try this stuff, my acid reflux may get worse as a result

Just using lemon water seems to be working, passing my stone, for now

Then there’s “the mother” and yes, it has legit uses for health

Okay, so even if ACV is alkalizing to the body, the same can be said about a plethora of fruits and vegetables, too.

Healthwise, if that’s all it’s good for, then it’s not any more exciting than eating a spinach salad.

Guess what… it does more than just alkalize.

What is the mother in organic apple cider vinegar like Braggs raw and unfiltered?

The mother of vinegar, as it is called, is naturally formed during the fermentation process. It’s cobweb-like strands of enzymes and good bacteria. Rather than take this out, products like Braggs leave it in the bottle.

Admittedly, this photo makes it look gross, but that’s only because we’re trying to show you an extreme example of what the mother looks like. What you get in a bottle of Braggs is mixed and broken apart. Until you get to the very bottom of the bottle – like the last 2% of liquid in it – you’re not going to see something that pronounced and even then, it will not be in actual distinct pieces.

Is the mother a form of probiotics? Are they alive? Since it’s unpasteurized, it’s possible there are digestive health benefits of apple cider vinegar from probiotics. Many have claimed the mother is living but without actual test results to verify how much – if any – was alive, we never felt comfortable making that same claim

Finally in 2016, a study was published which confirmed they are living (29). The following 5 kinds of good bacteria (probiotics) were found in the tests:
    ◦acetobacter
    ◦lactobacillus
    ◦oenococcus
    ◦komagataeibacter
    ◦gluconobacter

We stress that still does not tell us exactly how much is surviving by the time you get the bottle. It could be a lot or very little. But guess what? The biggest benefit for your GI tract may have nothing to do with whether or not you’re getting probiotics from the ACV

The 'cure' for acid reflux is surgery, not ACV

As a reasonably intelligent and educated person who can read, I don't doubt that apple cider vinegar can provide certain benefits, particularly as part of an overall healthy lifestyle, diet, and physical exercise. It's laughable to suggest it's the cure-all many people promote it as, particularly people who should know better. This is true of any of these so-called miracle foods or super foods, none of which can be used to cure or prevent all of the ailments brought about by overindulgence, laziness, lack of discipline, and overall unhealthy lifestyle, never mind those that are the unfortunate result of genetic predisposition.

Can it help with kidney stones? Maybe. I've read that drinking lots of water, and appropriate amounts of acidic juices may help to prevent kidney stones. Can it do all the miraculous things claimed on that "Amazing Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar" list? Don't make me laugh...

With any protocol, whether allopathic or holistic, not all people will get the same benefits from it. But that doesn't minimize that those mentioned benefits do exist and happen to different patients. That is why there are always different approaches to similar symptomology because those similar symptoms can exist for very different reasons.
