So CNN is at it again. They rig "debates" by giving Hillary the questions ahead of time, now they plant their own leftist agenda "questions" in their "town hall" with "ordinary citizens asking their own questions."

    Fraud!

Shooting Survivor: CNN Gave Me "Scripted Question" After Denying Question About Armed Guards

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Colton Haab said he was approached by CNN to ask a question at Wednesday night's town hall but decided not to after the network gave him a "scripted question," quashing one he wrote himself. Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC shielded students while the school was under attack from the shooter, said he was going to ask about using veterans as armed security guards.

"CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted," Colton Haab told WPLG-TV, an ABC affiliate in Miami.

Isn't it a bit suspicious that he appears to be the only guest claiming CNN gave him a scripted question? Of course, he's entitled to his opinion in the gun debate, but, isn't it possible that he may have allowed his political beliefs to cloud his judgement? (I'm trying to be diplomatic here, given that he's probably been under a lot of stress since the shooting.)

Haab Has Confederate Flag Graphics on His Facebook Page & Believes Armed Teachers Could Have Stopped the Threat

Several confederate flag graphics are on his Facebook page, including one posted twice in 2012 that says “NObama.” The other graphic shows the confederate flag turning into the word “rebel.”

CNN is a media wing of the democrat party, and full of lies and manipulative.

It’s like when they got bagged giving Hillary Clinton advance look at the debate questions.

Oh, jeez. Look at you grasping. So back in 2012, how old was Colton? Eleven, twelve?!

"Hurry, fellow liberals! When he was just eleven he was a bona fide racist! Character assassination commences now!!!"

Every CNN interview-rigging allegation I’ve read about has ended up being debunked. I’ve no reason to believe this one is any different - and given the political beliefs of the kid, that seems more than likely in this case.

The press are far from perfect. Of course they make mistakes and there will always be the occasional rogue journo, but this whole Trumpster CNN narrative is just a lame attempt to deflect from the lies of Trump and his adherents.

Is this from the same source, with the same veracity, as the stories that the Parkland student survivors interviewed on camera were much older "actors"? Who travel around the US to stage their hoaxes? Despite photographic and other incontrovertible evidence that these are the actual students from Parkland who lived through this massacre?

As for CNN reviewing comments, this is not uncommon in public presentations before the cameras, that are to be addressed to a selected forum, as here. It's to prevent violent or unairable remarks, but also to ensure the speaker isn't going to deliver deranged nonsense and waste the forum's time. An issue raising First Amendments Rights, but less clear in a primarily privately-staged event.

Republicans do it, too. In fact, at Republican-controlled meetings the questions really can be fed and rehearsed, and faked. Anyone remember the scandal when it was discovered & proven that the "reporter" tossing laudatory questions to President Bush at news conferences, easy answers for which Bush had been prepped, was the Administration's own phony plant? And how about Trump himself phoning reporters and pretending to be someone else, defending & praising the Donald to them.

But not surprising all the Trump Trolls here would repeat and defend this latest fake news from the Right. All chiming in at once and singing off the same sheet of propaganda. Their obvious tactics really do become too obvious.

I always wondered why the right wing insists on calling the Democratic Party the "Democrat" party as if that were somehow clever. Then I saw Rush say it, and realized "ah, that's why they do it. They are following Rush Limbaugh's terminology. (as if that is somehow clever). It just sounds like they are stubborn or stupid.

Did CNN "give" the questions to Hillary, or did Donna Brazile manage to obtain them? And present them to Hillary as being the "anticipated" questions from certain panelists, based on their past pattern of inquiry & commentary? Predicting what a panelist might ask, or the tactics a debating opponent use, is common practice. I think it was Brazile who overstepped the bounds with her "research & analysis" methods and left Hillary to suffer the consequences.

Constantly slamming CNN is a typical totalitarian political tactic: accuse someone else of your own actions, to distract attention from your own guilt. Now try telling us that Fox News doesn't shill for the Republicans. And don't reply "because CNN does it." That's a circular argument based on your original falsehood. Plus the "everyone does it" argument is the typical, but immature Republican tactic of again trying to deflect the guilt.

Who do we believe? A Jake Tapper "moderated" event or a Junior ROTC member who acted in a heroic manner during the shootings? My money is on the kid.

    From Jake Tapper's Wikepedia entry:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Tapper
"In 1992, Tapper served as a Campaign Press Secretary for Democratic congressional candidate Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky (PA-13), and later served as her congressional press secretary. Tapper also worked for Powell Tate, a Washington, D.C., public relations firm run by Democrat Jody Powell and Republican Sheila Tate. Tapper also worked briefly for Handgun Control, Inc. (now the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence) in 1997.[19]"

I really don't put much stock in what Exmil8 posts. He lives in the UK and isn't a U.S. citizen. He has very little actual exposure to CNN (the version shown in America). Watching a few clips on youtube of CNN's American programming doesn't provide even an inkling of what their programming is and how it is hard left.

Lol - At least I live in the 21st century. Where are you - 1992? You do know that all the major U.S. news channels can be viewed live over the internet from pretty much anywhere in the world, right? Of all the lame arguments you RJ Trumpsters have invented in your attempts to stifle open debate in this public forum, this has got to be one of the gems.

    Meanwhile, back to the topic...

CNN releases emails to push back on claim about ‘scripted’ town hall question

According to Business Insider, CNN and Haab agreed on the question that he would ask at the town hall. His father, Glenn Haab, pulled his son out of the event after the network refused to let the student read a lengthy speech at the event.

The Haabs' also appeared to provide doctored emails to media outlets to back up the claim that CNN scripted the questions, Business Insider reported. CNN's version of the email showed that the producer wrote she wanted the student to stick to a question "that he submitted," but that phrase was omitted in the version released by the family.

The Trump Trolls must really be hurting over this one, judging by their desperate response to it. Like a man slipping off a cliff tries to claw at the rocks to no avail.

And don't be concerned about the sock troll you're engaging right now. I doubt he actually lives and works in Pennsylvania on a highway department, any more than you or I do. Living in the US myself, and being very familiar with PA, that neighbors my home State, I find his backstory as revealed in his posts to be a bit suspicious. His RJ profile is very sparse, which is typical.

But his style is very similar to a previous banned troll we had here. Still, they do tend to all be very much alike. When you've read one troll here you've read them all. Always fascinating to wait for their nearly identical, virtually simultaneous responses.

I respect rkyjockdn's opinions, sometimes CJAZ's (when he isn't riding the troll bandwagon) and occasionally even RBR's (when he's on his meds), but as you say, the rest are just RJ Conservarump retreads.

These last posts made me realize I omitted another reason for the hosts of discussion forums to routinely review questions: duplication. This insures that each speaker asks a different question of the guests. Which uses air time much better, makes the guests answer more questions, and gives the person posing the guestion the sense that theirs was unique.

Of course that opens the door to possible abuse, by denying an original question based on host bias. But here are some parallels, with which I'm familiar.

On-air phone-in radio shows will typically have a production assistant actually take the initial phone call, to screen it. If the caller's question has already been posed it will be rejected. Screening also helps to reveal people who may be mentally unbalanced, or crave attention, and just want to personally harangue on the air, rather than ask a legitimate serious question on the topic.

Or in the case of a Right Wing talk show personality like Rush Limbaugh, filter out those who might be too hostile to Rush's views. To achieve the perfect mix of Rush supporters, while also including some token easy-for-him-to-counter negative callers, to demonstrate what a balanced show he has. It's all in the pre-screening.

Modern talk radio also can use time delay technology of a few seconds. This allows profanities to be bleeped out (although not always), and hostile callers to be cut, to the point they began their rant, then the host instantly returns live to say the caller was lost or cut for some invented reason. The listening audience hears a virtually continuous broadcast, never aware of the deleted words. Censorship? Certainly, but legal under certain non-governmental circumstances.

So the Right is making an issue of something they utilize themselves. But typical hypocrisy from them, trusting in the lack of knowledge of these matters by the American public.

But I say again, CNN did not WRITE those questions. They did an industry-standard pre-screening. And the Right's again being exposed in their own underhanded efforts to create fake news. Like Hillary's child sex ring in a local DC pizza shop, or Presidential Candidate John Kerry being a coward instead of a hero in the Swift Boat story. Fake news? Republicans and the Right invented and perfected it.

Even Fox News had to concede that the 'CNN scripted question' claim was false. Case closed.

Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson Set Record Straight On Shooting Survivor’s Claim CNN Scripted Town Hall Question

Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity set the record straight Tuesday night about segments on their programs last week, in which Parkland, FL shooting survivor Colton Haab and father Glenn claimed CNN tried to script the teen’s question for that network’s town hall on school shootings.

Glenn Haab today acknowledged he omitted some words from an email he got from a CNN producer that he had forwarded to news outlets. The removal of those words made it sounds as if CNN had scripted a question for Colton.

Now that the family has acknowledged the removal of words in a CNN email, Carlson said, “There is no evidence, as of right now, that CNN tried to give Colton Haab a scripted question.”

You mean admit that news they rushed to flood this site was fake? Never fear, they'll keep pushing it. And claim the reports disproving the hoax are the real fake news. And then periodically resurface their phony story, maybe in a few months, when they hope enough people will have forgotten the details, or no longer have the energy to keep restating the truth to disprove the Trump Troll lies.
