Climate Change is a real and serious issue. In this video Bill Nye, the Science Guy, explains what causes climate change, how it affects our planet, why we need to act promptly to mitigate its effects, and how each of us can contribute to a solution.

    About National Geographic:
National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. Through their world-class scientists, photographers, journalists, and filmmakers, Nat Geo gets you closer to the stories that matter and past the edge of what's possible.

Just a matter of time until those nobel laureate geniuses plooje, mx5njguy, muscelprotz, and pennsyguy crawl out of the woodwork to tell us that any climate change is a figment of our imaginations, because we are "liberal." (Because only political liberals in the US think that climate change is going on.)

Who cares. I'm more concerned about being able to enjoy camping, going out hiking and swimming in clean lakes and just being able to fucking breath fresh air.

Sir, we need to ensure that within 20 years there will still be wicked powder up in the mountains for you to ski in your shorts in.

What's the validity of a Mechanical Engineer talking about Global Warming?

Liberals: you can't make the batteries you need without child labor. Since Liberals already support killing babies it looks like you support killing children to make your batteries.

2/3 of the planetary supply of cobalt (a requirement in lithium ion batteries) is located in The DEMOCRATIC Republic of the Congo and is mined using child labor:

Liberals: here's the result of making your solar panels:

Liberals: let's not leave out your windmills. Obama exempted them from reporting how many rare birds they are shredding.

^ An applied science degree requires you to take A LOT of physical science courses, its just part of the curriculum.

I guess there weren't any courses about NOT using child labor.

My PC doesn't contain a lithium ion battery and my cellphone is old and uses an nimh battery.

Besides, I'm not a Liberal greenie nutjob trying to solve a problem by expanding use of child labor.

Liberals: what happened to your solution of making gasoline out of corn. It turns out you burn more energy and use more water than it's worth and the corn production diverts from crops needed by other countries which causes civil war like in Syria. Liberals, you can't burn food as fuel.

A Tesla or Chevy Volt needs thousands of times the amount of cobalt as a smartphone uses. The Congo is also clearing vast amounts of forest which was absorbing greenhouse gases.

Though you are probably right in your concerns about child labor, batteries, cobalt and corn, and they are not practices we should be indulging in, the fact remains, that the climate is changing - levels of CO2 are rising, the average global temperature has been rising for many years, and the oceans are becoming more acidic.

Nimh (nickel-cadmium) batteries also use cobalt.

I was actually waiting for the "Bill Nye isn't a Scientist" bs, lol. Hint: he designed aviation components...which require large amounts of...you guessed it...SCIENCE

Sooo... you'd have no problem with a podiatrist doing brain surgery on you, right? Or a proctologist operating on your eyes, or rendering and opinion about either? I mean, a doctor is a doctor, and medicine is medicine, right?

    See how stupid that sounds?

For the few of you that have the attention span for a 13-minute video, watch a brilliant man talk sense about global warming. Not liberal. Not conservative. Not for. Not against. Just well-researched, well-informed sense.

That was such a colossally stupid response, it doesn't even deserve a reply. God help you if the copy/paste function on this site ever failed. You'd have absolutely nothing to say. I've yet to see a single cogent, original thought in any of your posts.

Michael Crichton is not a scientist. Why would anyone believe his babble? ... Oh I guess if you are an ignorant trumpster climate denier ... you are not inteligent enough to see through the BS.
I trust the union of concerned scientists... https://www.ucsusa.org/global-warming/science-and-impacts/science/scientists-agree-global-warming-happening-humans-primary-cause#.WpOBzmSgq2w
