It has a wingspan of 386 feet (118 meters) and weighs 500,000 lbs. The twin-boom arrangement of Stratlaunch's carrier plane will allow the aircraft to carry up to three rockets at a time. It can carry a payload of up to 550,000 lbs. The Stratolaunch carrier plane is designed to launch rockets into orbit from an altitude of 30,000 feet .

Cant wait to see that take off, fully loaded.

With no payload though, it probably has take off and landing stability issues, there is very little support in the center span without the weight and connection of the POD. Just the weight of the landing gear itself, probably is hard on the center span

It would appear the Scaled Composites test bed aircraft Proteus, might have been some inspiration since its creator Paul Allen, is the same man who designed and built this Stratolauncher, I "worked" on a test project using Proteus back in summer of 2010 at the Mohave hanger site. Nothing much out here at all, not sure I could live and work here, very cold winters and very hot summers, it was a long drive there and back from LA in a day
